LOL! I can't stop being so amused by all of this! Has anyone actually seen the videos in this posting? Funny how we can all have an opinion about anything can't we? How we are all stuck on political parties.... just can't get over that hump and join together for what is right, or for what makes sense.

Posted this in another thread, but "libertarians" like to spam so I'll say it again.
The guy has been saying "there's going to be a crash" for fucking DECADES.
He didn't PREDICT this, he talked so much that one of his mindless rants actually came true. Talk too much and you're going to be right at SOME point.
Too bad his analysis is -completely- off and has nothing to do with the real estate criminals who caused this, but he predicted it anyway right because he's always talking about "the dollar crisis?"
This is just fucking mindless.
We're looking at a crisis directly caused by intense private lobbying to deregulate banks so they could merge to become fucking enormous, then they deregulated any hope out of fannie and freddie, then they deregulated the reserve ratios to be at 1:40 and then finally deregulated the SEC so that they could pull off all their criminal bullshit and this asshole thinks we need LESS laws.
Even fucking neo-cons have admitted that they were dead fucking wrong about this, that NEVER happens.
It oughta be an indicator to perhaps reconsider the idea that the financial market should be able to fucking deregulate fraud and crime.
But nope, it's the same old tune from the libertarian evangelists. The great god of "the free market" will take care of everything as his prophet Ron Paul has foreseen!
What's funny is that Ron Paul isn't even a libertarian, he's just fucking Barry Goldwater or Calvin Coolidge reborn. I don't want to return the 1920's thank you very much, it fucking sucked.

yup. All this creative lending was invented for and in behalf of "poor" people so that everyone could afford a home. You want to help the poor right?
BTW I believe both parties are guilty of this. So this isn't a Republican/Democrat thing. Its more to do with the roll of government and the Federal Reserve. There should not BE a Federal Reserve. Banks wouldn't take crazy risks on people who couldn't afford to make loan payments if there was no government backed printing press behind them.

I'd be impressed if someone ran without labels. More impressed than ever. I doubt that's possible in USA.
They have to label everyone with their little yellow tags so they can enforce their bigotry. (that's all labels are used for let's face it) - 3 years ago

The fact remains...as a republican, Ron Paul has a voice in Congress that otherwise may not be heard as a libertarian.... being that the current 2 party system is so successful in suppressing any other voice of the people...Hmmm?

He's a Libertarian. His masquerade as a Republican failed him. I think he's gotten senile in his old age. The Libertarian Ron Paul had much more BALLS. And I disagree that a third party has no chance. But now America has no chance. I love it because government is the opposite of freedom. And America is "big government" people who think they are free are just naieve. Free country? Yeah, free to do as your told and obey. A nation of idiots who have no problem with the government up their business even to what they eat , drink or smoke.

What if Ron Paul is a fear monger who isn't actually changing anything, he is just using the edgy brand of revolution and "Campaign For Liberty" to line his pockets while staying loyal to the Republican Party?

He may even be worse than that, is he a puppet to kill the revolution? He did a good job if so. He rounded up all the energy and then threw it in a ditch. I need a refill on my apathy prescription. That refill will come with violent riots and the downfall of this hypocrite called the USA.

We aren't stuck with a two party system. There are literally hundreds of political parties in the united states. If the people don't back them then they cannot get into positions of power. But across the US greens, libertarians, and even socialists hold political office in local government. To say Ron Paul was forced to become a republican in order to get his message out is a scape goat argument to hide the fact that he is just as willing to sell out his ideals for a peace of the Washington pie instead of fighting for his core values from the ground up. Ron Paul was just 2008's Ralph Nader. There will be a different guy in 2012 who everyone will complain "should have been president" because of his/her "revolutionary ideas". Dennis Kucinich was that guy in 2004 and Ross Perot was that guy in the 90's. Different guy, same political side show. They never bring about their revolution.

I do agree that it was a major disappointment to see what was done with all his fund raising. But after all everyone did. . . no one voted for him. I knocked on every door in my area, gave them fliers and answered all the questions. . . and only 4 people voted for him in the primaries. Almost no one had even heard about him. The media pick the contenders before the race even starts. Its so frustrating.
If he had gone 3rd party he would not be doing the awesome things he is doing now. HR 1207 is gaining momentum and has over 100 cosponsors now! An audit of the Federal Reserve! AWESOME! Go Ron Paul!

Most of the money that was made in his campaign wasn't wasted. It is still being used to fund the C4L and YAL organizations and the only true injustice is if we let the momentum that was started by Ron Paul's campaign die simply because it wasn't a total victory. We opened the door, but were unable to enter. The door is still open, now we just have to get through it.

You know, Dr. Paul has actually done quite a bit for Liberty, and politics in general. His Campaign for Liberty Website has launched several aspiring politicians who are going to be stars of our country soon. His work with and for the constitution is profound.
Against Abortion?
I believe he is personally against it. He actually tells a story where he had to watch a baby die that could have been saved.
With that said, he believes that personal liberties come first. I would not be able to support him otherwise.
I was gravely ill years ago and needed emergency surgery on my bowels due to scar tissue cutting them clean off. I was also pregnant with my daughter. Her heartbeat was checked regularly and even though she had survived the surgery, my body kept trying to reject her. We had more tests done and found she had severe hydrocephalitis (water on the brain). She had essentially just enough of her brain left at the base of her neck to keep her heart going. Dr’s told me she would not survive, but tried to convince me to carry her to term to try to deliver.
How can you ask a person to do that? With a fresh scar running from my sternum to my pelvis, I would not have survived a delivery. I had no choice but to visit a clinic, I had another child at home to think about. That was my choice to make. My personal liberty to choose what is right for me and my family. My daughter saved my life, it was the scar tissue, and if I had not refused x-rays because I was pregnant, they would not have been able to tell it was scar tissue and sent me home to die.
With the taxes that I pay, I have many “ adopted children”, the welfare system will always provide us with that privlage.
Lets also not make this a racial issue, I am in an interracial marriage and now have 2 beautiful interracial children, we are all lovers of Liberty and Freedom. Watching it frail away pushes me to have a drive to help educate others in these crazy times. You, sound to me that you are still hung up on political parties.... Unite as one AMERICA, holding up strong to tyranny!

I was a big Ron Paul fan until he sat down with our 20 million dollars and didn't run third party. As far as I can tell, he's just another politician. Against abortion? Is he ready to personally adopt seven black babies? I don't think so.

He ran as a republican knowing that third parties never have a chance in hell at becoming president. He did it to give himself a fighting chance to win the public over with logic and reason, instead of empty reused promises that every other one of the candidates were using.

As much as I respect both of your opinions, I have to disagree with both arguments. Ron Paul would have had a fighting chance if the ballads were not all ready chosen for us. It was smart to get Obama to run. McCain's success for the Republican position was just.... he is another Bush, I doubt people really went for all that and nominated his ridiculous self. People only started sticking McCain stickers on their SUV's and trucks when it was McCain vs Obama. Before that the back windows were pretty bare. My vehicle still rolls with "Ron Paul 2008" and "Ron Paul: Hope for America" stickers. When the dude dies from old age I am going to stick "Ron Paul is now dead "There is no hope for America". I agree that he should have ran for 3rd party, but I know he knows the inside operation of the ballad counting. Bush vs Gore should have told us enough about the system of voting.

To say that he should have run third party despite the fact that he would have had no chance of winning is idealogical absolutism. Be pragmatic about it. The reason we are ripe for a third party now is because Ron Paul did a great service in getting recognition for an alternative to the two-headed monster that is our current political system.
To many people said, "I like Ron Paul but I don't want to waste my vote." Now I've actually had friends say they wish they had voted for him despite his remote chances of winning. I always counter the logic of picking a lesser candidate for the sake of picking a lesser evil with the statement, "The only reason he doesn't have a chance is because everyone is saying they'd vote for him, but he doesn't have a chance."

Well... I wrote Paul's name in on the ballad. When I say I am going to do something... I do it. Dude was more than a bumper sticker to me, and I still support him. I really did and do not care what percentage my vote counted for. He dropped out, yes, but considering the options I figured writing in a good man (who dropped out of the race) was better than filling in a bubble for one of two men who had and still have no foundation to stand on. As far as him abandoning us...no. He simply shifted his attention to a different outlet to get his word heard. He is still holds rallies. http://www.campaignforliberty.com/
Check it out if you are interested. I signed up for the email and I recieve info where Paul holds his next convention every so often. He did chage the way many people think and feel about this country. Being a supporter opened windows which allowed questioning and interpretation a thing for the future. That is why people cannot stand the man. We are so used to being washed by the government, our raw minds are left to become dried up by the media and propaganda, that a new way of thinking is actually scary. He did impact many people. There are many towns near me that have a "meet up group's" about Paul and the 'Revolution' campaign. I have yet to attend one, but I plan on doing so once exams are finished. I do not want to make him sound like some god...but he is the only one who has preached about changing the government sensibly, in my opinion. I have not figured out what he would benefit from his policies if they were to come into effect. For example, politicians make great money off income tax and he says 'do away with it'. Great money off the war, 'do away with it'...ect. Where are the motives? - 3 years ago

AnarchyintheUS , you mention "meetup.com" which is a site that thinks revolution is "offensive" and will ban you for speaking your mind just like they did me. I was a RP delegate, member, and a member of campaign for liberty too. I feel like I was suckered out of my time.
If a 3rd party has no chance, it's time for a violent revolution. I came to that conclusion and voted for the guy who would ruin the country quickest. (Obama) because I'd rather rebuild it from rubble than fix it.
I hear these people trying to "Fix" it. What so they can tax your dope? Screw that. I don't pay tax. I will buy it illegally first or grow it. You don't "fix" a hypocritical system, you burn it down to the ground.

Funnicus, honestly I think about revolution everyday. What would it be like? The movies? An apocalypitc world without water? A deserted desert with dry humanless landscap? Tom Petty running around helping out some mailman? All these questions run through my mind practically daily (except the Tom Petty bit). I am actually glad you mentioned revolution on a deeper scale, Most of us do not want to think of a violent Revolution. We watch and love movies like "Teminator", novels like "Brave New World" and "1984", music that has hidden political messages, but we seem to only feel lazy or unmovtivated to do something. I think sometimes American's forget that this country was created pretty violently. A handful of American's remember the revolution that created this country, but usually only around the 4th of July. Again, I am glad you said somehthing that opened the door to different type of revolution other than protest. I am sure we will never see eye to eye about Ron Paul. I think it would take a lot to turn me against Paul. As I mentioned earlier, I respect and appreciate your opinion. As the fantastic band,Muse, proclaims, "I am waiting patiently.I'll wait for a sign" I feel as if we are all in that waiting state. I wonder if a lowly citizen will have enough motivation and passion to get the ball bouncing (hopefully a peaceful gesture).
