HIV-positive prostitute arrested for 28th time since '01

Aside from the fact that prostitution is illegal, there's a lot more to this. Do we KNOW she wasn't telling her "customers" that she is HIV+? If she did, then does that make it more or less wrong? There is no law saying HIV+ people can't have sex. So the crime here is prostitution. But if we know she's hiding her gift with purchase, then it should be biological assault or something like that.

Still - a dose of morality might be a good thing.

tragic I know there is precedent for the attemted murder but in Ohio? This woman is probably like most street prostitutes a drug addict, she probably got the HIV from a trick or a dirty needle. it's real hard to show empathy for someone who is knowingly spreading (or at least potentially spreading) HIV, at this stage in her life she probably doesn't realize that she still has options. Drug treatment would be a good start, I'd hate to see her amends list! Go back to school if she can maybe do out reach to other women in her position. But first and foremost bitch needs to quit turning tricks! If Ohio doesn't already have the law on the books they'll probably use THIS as their test case for passig one IF they can get ant of her Johns to come foreward who have tested positive for HIV and put her away probably for life. I don 't know what the average prostitute does in tricks per day but if she's an addict with a habbit to feed she's been working 365 days per year by nine years minimum by say three tricks per day (on the low side) is 9855 and consider repeat costomers so less that by one third around 6504 potential people from this one Typhoid Mary. Now take into account the states culpability for basicaly allowing her to carry on, as the article stated she was arrested 28 times for prostitution at what point did they become aware that she was HIV positive? Do you see a class action lawsuit against the People of Ohio for letting this go for as long as they have?

Who knows how common this really is ? If prostitution were legal , she would have to be tested and could be kept track of ... Less suffering all round .

Im going to assume, that her telling people she is HIV positive would be bad for "business". However, she can be tried and HOPEFULLY convicted of "attempted murder" BUT then again, that's only if her customers come forward, and test positive for HIV, and can prove she gave it to them...sooo it's a stretch. I agree though, I wouldnt feel bad, if they found in her in an alley somewhere..not breathing.

why did they let her out... and i guess the people got what they paid for

Why do they keep letting her out, isnt there a law that says you have to tell a person you have AIDS before you have sex with them?

I'd love to know why the MAN wasn't arrested?
