Office worker's rotten fridge cleanup sickens 28, sends 7 to hospital

An office worker who can't smell because of allergies managed to make 28 of her colleagues sick earlier today, some needing to be hospitalised.

The unnamed employee took it upon herself to clean out the contents of a rotten fridge using chemicals - neither of which the hapless do-gooder could smell!

According to the AP, firefighters had to evacuate the downtown San Jose offices of telco giant AT&T after the flagrant fumes prompted someone to call 911. A hazmat team was even summoned to the scene.

    • This reminds me of the time my blind uncle briefly worked as a minefield clearer. I don't really know the full details but apparently he took all of his colleagues out on his first day. Nice man.

      This reminds me of an Urban myth that did the rounds in my halls at uni. Some guy was so fed up of his flat mate stealing his milk, he ejaculated in a pint of his own milk (knowing the other guy would steal it) and put it back in the fridge for the other person to drink, which he duly did. Nice!

    • so let me get this straight - there's a fridge that stinks. But it's only when cleaning fluid gets added to it, that it multiplies the stench and the entire office building gets evacuated. And yet, the woman at the frontline who added the chemicals has a broken nose so can't smell it. Moral of the story; if you notice you're the only person remaining in an evacuated building - leave, even if you don't know why.

    • I once opened the door to my fridge and there was a large ghost dog daemon's head in there which ominously said the word "Zool" in a deep threatening voice.
