Ancient dildo unearthed in cave

I have this bizarre picture of Betty Rubble and Wilma Flintstone browsing around in the sex rocks shop in my head right now.
Scientists in Germany recently pieced together this "tool" from 14 pieces and said that it wasn't until they had the last piece in place that they realized what they had on their hands. I'm betting that the last piece was the top...
Now I am thinking about Brooke Shields in the "German Engineering" commercials for Volkswagen...
The 20 cm (7.87401575 inch), highly polished (I bet it was) stone penis had other uses too. According to the scientists it was also used for knapping (splitting) flints when not employed in its primary function.
If you ever wondered where the term "hard as a rock" came from...

In a previous life I was a crafter of ornate armored breastplates. Occasionally I would produce one of these fine ceramic dildos. Only wealthy and influential women could afford my services.

Damn it, why do all phallic symbols have to be that size? I'm sure if it was half the size it still could have 'ground food' efficiently.

How can they be sure it's not a pestle? Or a rolling pin? Until they provide some DNA or other equally CSI-like evidence, I'm so not believing it's a dildo.

I don't think it was actually useeeed as a dildo. Maybe it was just a symbol of the penis, not something that was put into the vagina XD. Just a piece of art, like the female stone figures.

I do think you're wrong at least in your guess that our ancestors didn't have sex for pleasure. Of course it was pleasurable for them, as much as it is for us. Human nature didn't simply appear out of nowhere. I agree with your assessment of the rock though. I really doubt it was used as a dildo.

Pretty neat, pretty good. It is nice to know some things never change. These people had thier priorities in order for sure.

Overall, this is quite funny. I can see it being used for a lot more things then just sex. It was probably originally something they used to grind food and one day they got curious.

i bet it was used to ground things. i've seen similar ones from other civilizations as well. why must everything be connected to sex... obviously they had sex or we wouldn't be here, but jeeez!! sex didn't rule the world till women were liberated and some decided to take it to a whole another level.
