Let's not forget that dear ol' Ronnie Raygun also sold cigarettes and whiskey in advertisements for years.

Why limit all the potential good of this plant, it's like slapping God in the face if he gave you a gift.

Why would we ignore Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and John Adams?
Why would we allow their voices to be silenced and replaced with voices of Richard Nixon, a president who left before his term was over, in shame? Or, Ronald Reagan who was afforded the luxury of a lie in plain sight? He was allowed to make this claim:
"I now have absolute proof that smoking even one marijuana cigarette is equal in brain damage to being on Bikini Island during an H-bomb blast" - Ronald Reagan
WITH NO ACCOUNTABILITY, OR SHAME!
When we end the ridiculous war on cannabis, we will free up hemp for industry. The many uses of hemp are limitless. Jack Herer posts the many uses of cannabis hemp daily at current.com and www.jackherer.com Hemp really could be used to generate new environmentally friendly industry in America. Just to quote a few presidents from our past, who agree with me:
"Prohibition... goes beyond the bound of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded" -Abraham Lincoln
"Hemp is of first necessity to the wealth & protection of the country." - Thomas Jefferson, U.S. President
"Make the most you can of the Indian Hemp seed and sow it everywhere." - George Washington, U.S.
President "We shall, by and by, want a world of hemp more for our own consumption." - John Adams, U.S. President

Well, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that the best way to win the "War on Drug Cartels" is to legalize their cash crop. Turn the black market into the open market... problem solved.

WakeUpPeople:
As much as I hate oversimplifications...
Over about 20k+ dollars worth of college courses there has been one unanimous agreement between about 50 professors.
If you want to kick the shit out of drug cartels, legalizing drugs is the easiest and safest way to do it.
So far the only issue nations that legalized non-standard drugs are facing is immigration from nations that still don't allow the use of the drugs. Heroin being a good example, in the few places it has been legalized the drug related crimes have plummeted, the amount of people starting up has plummeted, and the amount of people who continue using has plummeted.
Also since the way it works is you get it at your local hospital with a sterilized needle the amount of sexually transmitted diseases spread via heroin use has plummeted.
The only real negative is that immigrants flood to these places to try and get there fix since few people want to spend hard time for a hobby that (if legalized) would only negatively effect them.
As opposed to smoke able drugs that can be a pain in the ass to everyone around :P.
The US in specific should legalize all drugs but make all drugs fall under the same rules as nudity. If used in public you could be fined for indecent exposure :P. That way everyone who wants to can get as high as they want but I'm not going to have to deal with an army of art students chain smoking every time I try to walk between classes.
Alright...this response got way longer than I was expecting.
