Shares in Spanish drugmaker Almirall (ALM.MC) gain 1.3 percent after news a cannabis-based medicine for multiple sclerosis had been filed for approval in Europe. Sativex is made by GW Pharmaceuticals GWP.MC and will be marketed in Europe by Almirall and in Britain by Germany's Bayer (BAYG.DE).

"The news is positive for Almirall but it's too early to make a valuation," an analyst in Spain says.
