A recent survey reveals that around 80 per cent of Britons, men included, would choose a good night's sleep over a night of passion. Turns out, we're all knackered. Too knackered to be bothered with a fumble when the lights go out.
It's not that we don't want it - it's just that too often when we fall into bed at the end of a long day either commuting to the office, wrestling kids in and out of school uniform, cooking, shopping or worrying about paying the bills, sex just seems like another thing on the long list of Things To Do: Put the bins out, have fantastic sex.
For most people (and I'm guessing most busy women), sex is the first thing to fall off the bottom of that list, whether they are parents or not. We've become so exhausted and stressed that foreplay is not cost-effective any more.
It's ironic that in a culture where sex is a major preoccupation - it's used to sell everything from cars to toilet cleaner - the thing that people really crave is not hours of lust but a good night's kip.
Sleep is the new sex. Fewer orgasms, more snorgasms.
Do you agree?

TIP: try sex at other times, like just before you go out, or in front of a dull film while on the sofa. Quickies keep it interesting when you can't manage to go the whole hog.
PS I freakin' love sleep

"Too knackered to be bothered with a fumble" is the most heartbreakingly funny thing i've heard all day, and in my line of work that's no inconsiderable task. Come visit nashville and charm a few groupies; it's at least a change in what ails you, if not necessarily a cure

I hate when I'd rather just fall asleep than have sex, but sometimes I just do.
I do agree that long work days and other things do tire people out, but I think it's important to keep up a healthy sexual relationship, so I try to go out of my way to take an early train home or have some caffeine or not turn off the lights right away when I get in bed.
sleep is even better after a good romp.

Finally! a genuine excuse to fall asleep during sex!
Maybe you could work in shifts, one taking a quick nap while the other does the hard work, then swap half way through...

If there was some way to combine eating and watching The Godfather into the concept of sleep-sex, we'd never need to do anything else.

So now "being too tired" isn't just an excuse. Apparently the fact that your partner might actually really be exhausted has been more difficult for women to believe than men.

We work too much in the UK. Especially in London.
When I consider the hours I put in these days compared to when I lived up North it makes me sick!
Same goes for friends who moved to London like I did. It's all about the weekends these days.
