The President has said that bringing peace to the Middle East was a priority of his administration, yet neither his Peace Envoy George Mitchell nor his Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been to Gaza.

Now that Obama is traveling to Egypt on June 4, let's ask him to take a side trip to Gaza so that he can witness the devastation firsthand and listen to the voices of the local people.

You can ask him at the link.

Peace will never come with just words.

    • I would love to see Obama go to Gaza.. To see the destruction Israel and America has done. I think it would really open his eyes even more to finding more ways to create peace in the world. Thanks Jan , its signed

    • It would appear that to place humanity above politics is simply not possible. Is peace even possible in this region of the world? Politicians have made sure the answer to that as of now is no. Hopefully, Obama will decide to go to see this humanitarian crisis not as a politician, but as a human being.

    • hamas needs to be on the same page with the leaders of the west bank before they can do anything useful regarding peace with the Israelis. and the leaders of the west bank have a better chance at peace than hamas. so i wouldn't waste time with hamas either.

the innocents are always the victims and that's sad but such is the way of mankind, it always has been.

    • . The Israelis are finding themselves like prey caught by a boa constrictor. Over time, there is less and less breathing room concerning settlements. Obama is shutting off every "out" that Israelis have been used to enjoying from previous administrations. For a peace advocate like myself, the process is a miracle to behold:

    • I agree Obama should go to Gaza.
George Mitchell and Hillary Clinton are not Muslims and may be concerned for their safety , whereas Obama would probably be welcomed as a fellow Arab.
After all he is accomplishing what the terrorist have not been able to do, that is to destroy America and our Freedom.

    • Time will come, this too shall pass. there must be a reason why the birth place of the four major religions is a place of unrest. I am no Zionist. But in the Jewdaio Christan belief, this is bound to happen. Not neglecting the other two. I am sure they have a relative analogy for this situation as well. As far as America aligning itself with hypocritical Jews of Israeli. Just look at her America herself is a hypocritical Christian. So, in there terms, the devil is already in side them, manipulating and corrupting. it is a self fulfilling prophecy, Without the law there would be no sin and visa versa. unrest is what these four depend on, other wise time is up, non can look at one another without being in doubt of there own faith, without fear that they are wrong. Thus, a duality is born, That fulfills it's self giving rise to the very thing each faith warned about. Apocalyptic themes and that not. Fanatical false prophets, and the like. Sin committed by the Leaders of the church, in this case Jews, against Palestinian. ( I think. Please Correct me if I am wrong, Gaza is Palestinian? correct? ) All of these things were promised to happen by the doctrines of each faith, almost so man could act them out, Bringing them in to being true. Faith in ourselves is what we need. when Ostensibly, that is what we have as we full fill our own prophesy. And lead ourselves in to Apocalypse. If we would stop and look, disregard the text of old. and look for improvement in our own will we might find Obama in Gaza, we might find an America not aligned with Israel. But we don't.

    • He should visit Gaza if he wants to see the entire story. I've been there and the trip will open anyone's eyes to the atrocities being comitted by Israhell. Someone should hold the criminals responsible.

    • What is the real shame is that everybody isn't helping 46 million Americans fight for their lives.

And yes I very actively support single payer, call reps, senators, white house, whoever will listen, thank Sanders, etc., on a daily basis.

We could use more help, not diversions.

    • I've signed it! we need to take care of our own people first! Food,Health Care, and Housing all should be rights we have as Americans! we need therefore to stop running the world and stay close to home instead!

    • I found this yesterday and signed a petition on codepink. I do really think he should go visit Gaza, but I have a feeling in wont do it. Even if he does go see what horrible things have happened over the years. That in no way will make him but a stranglehold on Israel US Foreign aid.

@Spoon, I hope that means your calling your and other senators about why there isn't representation of a single payer advocate at the Senate Finance Committee. I called like 15 senators yesterday. Most of which were the ones on the Finance committee. Thanked Berner Sanders for introducing a single payer bill in the senate.

    • Well, you won't get single payer healthcare if we continue to allow the current policy regarding WAR to continue in this country. And who asked anyone to prioritize anything? This is asking people to sign a petition, not go there themselves or to even worry about it 24/7. Ashame so many people don't understand how one issue effects another.

    • I can. I can worry about several things at the same time, like international human rights and genocide, health care, gay rights, the environment, tax reform, the end of marijuana prohibition, restructuring of our mental health system and laws, and so on. To have tunnel vision is a mistake.
