Former Vice President Dick Cheney said Monday that he does not believe Saddam Hussein was involved in the planning or execution of the September 11, 2001, attacks.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney says Saddam Hussein "provided sanctuary ... and resources to terrorists."
He strongly defended the Bush administration's decision to invade Iraq, however, arguing that Hussein's previous support for known terrorists was a serious danger after 9/11.
Cheney, in an appearance at the National Press Club, also said he is intent on speaking out in defense of the Bush administration's national security record because "a clear understanding of policies that worked [in protecting the United States] is essential."
"I do not believe and have never seen any evidence to confirm that [Hussein] was involved in 9/11. We had that reporting for a while, [but] eventually it turned out not to be true," Cheney conceded.

Hmmm, usually anyone that is telling the truth won't go out of their way to defend themselves the way this guy is. Just the fact this guy just never shuts up about it tells me he is lying through his teeth.
Kivol, what you say about a million people marching to Cheneys house and dragging him off to prison is exactly what should happen and most likely the only way you would ever see him behind bars but in the US this is just not the way. It's unfortunate because what is going on in Iran right now is exactly what you are talking about. Those people have had enough and are out taking back their country. Kudos to them. It's kind of funny too because Obama is watching this and thinking this is exactly what the US gov't wants over there. Can you imagine if the people in Iran were revolting against someone in power that the US gov't liked though? This is why Obama must be careful with how he words his responses to the happenings in Iran as he has used the word "peacefully" more than Bush used the word "terrorist". Lord knows he wouldn't want that kind of public sentiment against gov't spilling over into his own country.

I don't think we have the political will to arrest this man. While at the progressive conference I thought Cindy Sheehan proposed something stunning. Lets organize a Citzens Arrest of these bastards. I say a million people get together march to the house of each individual and force our way in. WE can put him in jail. The public can be the hand of justice. I say screw the trail but for the sake of truth maybe we should have one. Sadly that wont get the truth out so maybe skip it and just throw the keys away.

Now that the Bush-Cheney Thugs are out of power, they can no longer use "War on Terror", "National Security" or even "Global Economy" to cover-up their graft and corruption. Nobody is Above the Law... Follow the Evidence... Follow the MONEY... Prosecute the Criminals!

This pisses me off, even i knew this already. All those people that died over there and he has the nerve to just say it like it's no big deal? Furthermore, why in the hell are we still over there?! If he doesn't get thrown in jail for his actions my hope for this country will run out. I mean all those people that died for NOTHING!! Bin laden isn't even nowhere near there. Screw oil, what about the american people and the innocent civilians had to deal with?
sorry for the rant, but this pisses me off.

REALLY? It only took him a few years to admit it. So finally they admit it when most of the world population already knew about their lies.
Why is Cheney even still speaking publicly? He is no longer relevant politically or socially. I consider myself a nonpartisan progressive but he just needs to suck it up and admit that his party lost. Shut up and wait for the next election.
I also think that him and the rest of the Bush administration needs to send out a formal apology to the families of military members who have been killed in Iraq, thinking that they are serving their country for the right reasons. They at least deserve that.

Amazing how he can still touch that raw nerve in us. We know he is the bogeyman incarnate, yet we still give that expected reaction when he jumps out from behind the corner. Boo!

How sad. He does this now after the fact because he knows no accountability will come to him from the bought and sold Congress we have on both sides because he is no longer in office. 'Impeachment is off the table.' That may be the case now, but INDICTMENT shouldn't be. And now he sits in smugness thinking he can get in front of a camera everyday and try to improve on his murderous legacy. Well, I may be a lady and not prone to using vulgarity, but in the words of Dick Cheney to Patrick Leahy on the Senate floor, 'Go fuck yourself,' Dick.

Even his handlers got fed up with the bull and clearly had a "talk" with him .... Interesting new strategy though . We must never forget that this person never ever means what he says . Lies, all lies , and manipulations . He and his friends betrayed the troops and the American public . Why is what he says even noticed ?

Yes....in World War ii men fought men, and this is what a young soldier with high ideals expects to do. However in Baghdad American soldiers go house to house....break in the door and terrify whole families......being asked to terrorize children and women, and to kill them, is not acceptable to well brought up young men. However, most of the time the brainwashing and mind altering drugs do the job........but reality catches up with them eventually and they have to live with it for the rest of their lives Read the piece written by the young soldier who wrote the book KILL KILL KILL and you'll sree what these young men have to deal with. Considering these young men were sent into this war by three draft dodgers............Bush, Cheney and Rove.......... it is hard on these soldiers...especially as because by the time they get home there will be more world news available and the results of their handiwork will be walking around on stumps being interviewed by the world media. Coming home EVENTUALLY will be harder on these young men than on those from Vietnam because we live in the digital age and its harder to hide war crimes. God have mercy on the civilians in Iraq.

What is it about the National Press Club and Dick Cheney? First I hear he supports state sanctioned gay marriage and now this? Did someone put prozac in place of his normal diet of baby ears (inside joke)? Just like my previous post it is sad this man placed party politics above the real needs of his country.

So...he admitted to something the whole world already, and always knew....wow.
Are americans prepared to apologize to the Iraqi people and pay billions in reparations and immediately put down their guns and start rebuilding the country that they have destroyed?
Or will they continue to steal all the oil and murder civilians?
We both know the answer.

At some point, if liberty is to have a fighting chance, American military personnel are going to have to experience an epiphany and decide that they're no longer going to fight on behalf of the bastards running the Regime.June 1, 2009.

well surprise sur-fucking-prise. now why should we believe anything else you have to say you lying sack of shit. he's simply trying to take a more moderate stance because he's single-handedly alienating huge numbers of people from the GOP with his baseless lies and extreme rhetoric. one guy I wouldn't mind seeing executed by the military.
