Concerns mount that Obama may be endangering national security. .. Obama releases secret list of nuclear sites
Obama released a secret report giving detailed information about hundreds of the America’s civilian nuclear sites and programmes, including maps showing the precise locations of stockpiles of fuel for nuclear weapons, the New York Times reported Wednesday.
President Barack Obama sent the document to the Congress May 5 for review and possible revision, and subsequently posted the draft declaration on the web.
One of the most serious disclosures appears to centre on the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee, which houses the Y-12 National Security Complex, a sprawling site ringed by barbed wire and armed guards. It calls itself the nation’s “Fort Knox” for highly enriched uranium - a main fuel of nuclear arms. - 2 years ago

Just a couple weeks ago Joe Biden gave away information about the location of the bunker (his own bunker)where the Vice President hides during a crisis, and now this. Could this be part of our new transparency?

... see how the Obama administration handles things! This is done under Obama's watch... can't blame Bush for this one!! And I think it's such a ploy tactic by Obama's camp to try to say "See... you NEED my Cyber Space policies"... It's all planned out. Sucking you retards in... like a cult leader. He "sets up" things for his own accomplishments... not caring how high the risks are to our Nation.

I'm with a few of you: I highly doubt this was truly done accidentally. The government can say anything it wants to make us believe it, and most people eat it right up. Just the other day an article on here was telling about a CIA who died 6 years ago and the truth about his death. I do, however, support our government. They have to lie about most stuff because the public cannot deal with it usually.

bah, most of these sites are known by the civilians living near them anyhow, not to mention if someone did try to attack and streal anything they wouldnt get far. Its not like they can just drive right in. They would have to have insider help to get away with anything.

Since the liberals had blamed EVERYTHING on Bush during his reign, it is only appropriate to blame Hussein for this, being that he is ultimately in charge. So, since I am keeping count, this is his fuckup number 97. Nice going, dickhead!!! I wonder if he took a copy of this report to present to king of Saud, so he can filter it down to the local Al Queda imam? Fucking incompetent assholes - this has a potential to make 9-11 feel like a pinprick!!!

CHILL OUT
the report was highly confidential - NOT secret (or worse). What that means is that it most likely contained information that can be gained though other means (though at a cost of more time and effort) -- a long time ago I worked @ a research plant and had a security rating.
BTW, this stuff (accidental release of information) happens all the time. It has more to do w/ antiquated procedures and tracking systems than anything else.

What's the big deal, there is no secret. I live in Tennessee and I can pinpoint and drive to the front gate of all 5 of our nuclear plants from Oak Ridge where the first Atomic Bomb was designed k-12, k-25, to right outside Murfreesboro down the Tennesssee river all the way into weest Tennessee. This is not "top secret" information. I do agree with the one former comment about not lableling the routes and trucks that haul the waste out west for disposal, but they take interste 40 almost all the way there and I lived in Knoxvillle, TN right next to a Nuclear plant and the trucks were constantly passing me and me them on the interstante. AS long as the waste is protected, the sights are no secret and anyone worried about this is fairly ignorant and shouldn't respond.

Our government is near perfect, its the stupid and idiotic jackasses the people have elected over the last one hundred and fifty years who have screwed it up with the publics immense help. Stop admiring and envying politicians they are just over paid and over empowered self serving crooks. I agree that these fools will be creating more government to oversee the security of the nuclear power plants.. When will the government buildup stop and reduction start? This entire country from the small villages to the big city has been living on debt billed to the tax payer for too long, however the government has broken the tax payer too. Goernment is not political science, its political incompetence.

Right. I don't think it was an accident at all. Someone intentionally leaked those documents, I think to get a rise out the American people and cast fear. I think this all plays into the "we're less safe under Obama" talking point that the repubs are always spoutin' off about. This incident gives them the go ahead to say, "see I told you so!". They want PBO to fail so bad its beyond ridiculous.

Interesting idea, but I don't see how the fault of this can be linked to Obama being in office.

While they are at it, why don't they just disclose the routes which they will soon be transporting all the nuclear waste to Yucca Mountain?
When will citizens stop taking it in the ass, and start demanding some goddamned accountability from their representatives, and government agencies?

Yeah, I don't think we need to advertise but I don't think they are secrets? Either way we need to be careful with nuclear technology as we don't have any safe way to dispose of the by-products.

The irony is, of course, that policymakers are once again taking a very serious look at building another generation of nuclear power plants in the U.S. right now. In fact, there are quite a few environmental groups that have decided to SUPPORT this construction because they feel that combining such efforts with other alternative energy development could begin to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. One of their primary arguments is that we have learned so much from events like Three Mile Island and Chernobyl that we no longer have to fear such disasters...unless, apparently, we PROVIDE A ROADMAP TO TERRORISTS AROUND THE WORLD OF EXACTLY WHERE TO FIND THEM!!!...sigh...When will they learn that there is no such thing as a "safe" nuclear power plant. The closest thing we have to such a thing is called The Sun...and even IT causes skin cancer...

Funny you should mention the sun. The one source of energy that can be used to harness incredible amounts of power for us. Imagine the kind of energy that could be harnessed from solar power collectors placed in geostationary orbit.
Solar power has the capacity to allow citizens to remove themselves from the grid.
I just don't see how we as a human race continue to ignore two of the greatest, cleanest sources of energy? Meanwhile the government keeps pushing for nuclear power, knowing full well the dangers and waste involved. It's so ludicrous it defies imagination!

Your comment really bothers me. Just because they are 'credible' doesn't mean they are always worth trusting. Do some research. The media is controlled by a selected handful of corporations that then filter down their information. It's no longer like it was 30-50 years ago when there were hundreds of outlets.
