A New Zealand man has found a novel way of ridding himself of a painful reminder: giving away the engagement ring he bought for his girlfriend (who rejected him) in a treasure hunt on Saturday. Clues will be posted on Twitter from 8am local time.
It's worth nearly £2000. He says he can't return it and hopes someone will find it and have more luck with it. If it were me, I'd sell that sucker and go on a month long vacation. That's be pretty lucky, if not entirely in the spirit of things.

Oh, I so want to be self-aggrandizing!
This feels like another way to get oneself in the newspapers, like that bloke who sold his life on ebay. Why can't he just have a good game of hunt the thimble, like the rest of us

Would this classify him as one of the many self-aggrandizing dudes that make up the bulk of Twitter's users (so says a Harvard study).
