Lying Lorraine caught out in last night's Apprentice

Don't worry, there's no spoilers about who gets the boot in this post. In last night's Apprentice, Lorraine got a grilling over lies on her CV that said she worked at a company for a year longer than she actually did.

Karren Brady, the managing director of Birmingham City Football Club and a lady who's mysteriously started using two "r's" in her name, tackled Lorraine over the issue, saying: "If intuition is your gift, why didn't you use it to put your correct dates of employment down?

"You've overstated your length of time working in your current employment by 12 months, which is quite significant."

Three contestants were fired in tonight's episode, leaving two to battle it out in Sunday's Final.

    • Yes Rich, that's a young Alan Sugar in the background (I managed to get sugar everywhere!)

Hunter_the_Cat - did I really say "bond"? I needs me some electrocution lessons!

Ms Mole's the only other person in the country that's seen less of The Apprentice than I.

Thank you Mr_Costello - goes to show my gender reassignment surgery went better than expected!

    • I didn't realise lying on your CV was so commonplace - pretty much all of them got caught out in some form or another. Brilliant entertainment!

    • As my housemate described it, "James got torn a new one."

Definitely the best of the series so far.

£5 says Kate wins it and Siralun employs Debra to spearhead a campaign, all on her lonesome, in a far, far away place.

    • I thought last night's episode was amazing. By far the best of the series. And I'm thrilled because I tweeted my predictions for who would go before it started and got it spot on. If Nick or Margaret ever die, I'd be happy to step in and advise Siralun now I've proved my worth. Hell, I could probably get an offer for Sandhurst with Ben Clarke-like judgement skills like that.

The stand-out theme running through the show was definitely lovable doofus James' clangers. The guy's so sensitive and hungry to be liked that the harsh interviews destroyed him. By the time he got to the boardroom, he was utterly broken and it was hilarious to watch. I loved how dejected he was when he realised that no matter what, he can't help but be a dork and put his foot in it, just after he said "Sir Alan, with me you don't need to reinvent the wheel, you just need to fix a couple of spokes. Um, sorry."

My top 5 James moments from last night's show:

      1. His admirable attempt at defending saying he "brings ignorance to the table" on his CV.
      2. The man *actually* wrote the words "I put a leash round the necks of people who spunk cash up the wall" on his job application. Inspired.
      3. His gormless picture on his application that makes him look like a brain dead, mouth breathing idiot.
      4. This gem: "The last place I wanna be is in the boardroom with Alan Sugar kicking me so hard up the arse, I've got his toes for teeth."
      5. The mini wheel-related breakdown at the end of the show.
