Obama's first pardon

Image
TheMasterPlan13
(NECN: Green Bay, Wisc.) - President Barack Obama handed out his first pardon on Thursday -- to a 10-year-old Wisconsin girl.

The president offered to write the fourth grader a note for missing the last day of school to attend his town hall-style meeting.

"I'll start writing it now. What's her name," Mr. Obama asked the girl's father. "I'm serious, what's your daughter's name."

When the father told the president that his daughter's name was Kennedy, Mr. Obama seemed impressed.

"That's a cool name," he said. "Alright, I'm going to write to Kennedy's teacher."

Of course, President Obama followed through on his promise, ripping off a piece of paper from his notes. He wrote "To Kennedy's teacher -- Please excuse Kennedy's absence... She's with me," and signed it "Barack Obama."

Appear Human - that's great - it's all about appearances anyways, isn't it? You've chosen an American Idol, whoopie, isn't he dreamy? Holywood liberal left motherfuckers love him - their pockets are full of money, but they just love to talk about how much they care about the poor and needy. And the dumb ones eat this shit-pie right up!!! Enjoy the taste - and don't forget to brush your teeth...

    • It's wild when even a "feel good" political news post has people acting like retards in the comments.

Is it possible to go one day without acting like the entire world is going to end and its all Obama's fault?

Good lord...I wouldn't mind it so much if people didn't use so many one liners from chain email spam and actually did a little personal research.

    • First of all good morning. I would like to say I haven't had any breakfast, I just have a couple of things to say.
I don't like politics and I hate politicians, I think they are all swindling snakes that lie and can never give you a straight answer. I don't have a political party but, every four years I find myself voting for either one of the two bowls of fhit that I face when I enter the voting booth. This time around Obamas shit stunk less than the GOP's so I voted for him. If you think that the past Bush or should I say Cheney administration did the right things, and didn't lie to us and they didn't get us into a bullshit war and made us all broke; you should probably shot yourself for you are the same skunk, The Obama guy has yet to prove himself. Yes he has done a lot of things. Too soon to tell or prove they will work. As far as I'm concerned when he's asked a question he answers like a politician.

    • You're are right even Hitler, Castro and Mussolini kissed babies. That doesn't 'excuse' them from the misery they caused.
Kennedy will have to sell the excuse to buy food some day, in fact maybe her family will need to do it much sooner.

    • Igordy, I understand you, but unfortunately, this is my kinda Soma for a Brave New World. Wanna go live in the jungle, be my guest. This society is crumbling and we haven't tried anything yet to fix it. I say give him a chance. If it's bad, America is the most armed country in the world per capita, per actual person. I'm sure he knows he can't give us bread lines for very long. Israel is semi socialist/semi demcratic, equally armed and for all intents and purposes considering what their system has faced it has survived and gets better all the time. Look toward the future and ask not what Obama is doing for our country but what you can do to make it fit your dreams besides being upset, which we all are. Maybe you should be a gun lobbyist;) Or build your own uber capitalist city.

    • His first pardon was Domb Ya and his crew but it was done behind closed doors and we will never know about the secret deal. I really almost nearly sort of in a very small way and a weak moment trusted the guy, but realized he is a politician in the end. Never trust, Lawyers, Politicans, Cops or Doctors.

    • I like it. Only because it makes our president appear human. I read no political crap into it. Take it for what it is - a nice gesture. I like it. This may be a natural thing for a politician, rather than a gesture. But if it's not...

Well..., If our young president wants to make a gesture, using pardons; one that would truly impress the entire country, then I have a suggestion.

Pardon each and every one of our kids that are currently going to waste in prison for non-violent drug offenses. Now THAT would impress me. Big time.

All? Really? A bit paranoid aren't we? Hate to break it to you but Obama is LOVED by a lot of people. Fact is Jan, he doesn't need plants and never will. He's too bright, too charismatic, too intelligent, too cunning, too skillful and much smarter than to use such a stupid ploy. I would go on about how you're inadvertently trashing that girl and her family but i figure you don't care.

Well, I was appalled when I got a copy of "Screams of my Father". It inspired me, however, to turn it into a homemade booksafe where I could stash my money, away from the gubmint. College, you say? Poor child, it seems that your impressionable young mind was molded by one too many old hippy professors.

    • It is amazing to me that Mr. Obama can do some of the things he has done and all you people see is some cute Polaroid moment. It was nice what he did for the little girl, but how is he going to explain to that little girl when she is 25 and only getting 25% of her paycheck to use, the rest had to be taken to cover the debt he has roped around our children's future. Will he send her a note then. The only worth of that note is if she can sell it on ebay. Might get a dollar might never sell. Open your eyes people, the man is leading this country down a drain and you people love it. Personally, I think he is selling us to the Muslims. Where did he get the millions upon millions he used to campaign for a year? AOL had his picture on every page that opened. Someone said it was from his wife's law practice. That is BS.

    • Too bad Obama's a fraud! Adding military industrial complex lobbyists to his cabinet after promising not to, continuing the failed war on terror, not ending marijuana prohibitionist (not even on a Federal level which should be unconstitutional anyways), Bush style bailouts, increasing Bush's warrantless wiretapping, immunity for the telecom industry.....and the list could seriously go on for hours....and people still have 'Hope' as if debt slavery is the only answer......as far as I am concerned, he's a neoconservative that hasn't tried to infiltrate the republican party, and a damn good liar!

    • Ooooo, so cute, the Messiah wrote a cute note. What are you - a bunch of schoolgirls or something? And this is news-worthy? Every president does a stint with and for the kids - even your hated Bush was sitting in school and reading with the children when 9-11 took place. Big Fucking Deal - so what? But wait - "Hussein the Great" needs to be reveared - soon you'll be praying for him too! Sheep... I guess America deserves the president they voted for. The effects of cool-aid should be wearing off by now - so the ones that are still under the spell are either having flashbacks or are really blind. He lies about the jobs in America - even your beloved CNN is turning on his constant bullshit - but the sheep still kiss the ground he walks on...

He is planning to tax you for using the employer's cell phone - and you amuse yourselves with "cute" notes he wrote. Chavez the totalitarian Socialist considers BHO left of himself - and you tickle yourselves with this nonsense. His aides should collect his used toilet paper, so that drones like you (yes, the cool-aid drinkers) can collect and frame that too... What has this nation become is a bunch of feel-good-non-thinkers - while the Obama PR machine feeds you this bullshit!!! Pathetic.

I am not trying to be defensive or passive-aggressive. I just want my request to be taken seriously. If you honestly believe that President Obama is so vile and deceitful as to be impeached, back it up. Maybe then all of the sheep can follow you instead.

What a great president we have he helps little girls get outta school. All the while he is ruining that little girls future with all the spending he is doing and an education wont help her anyways.

I find it interesting that you hate Obama so much, Bush was much worse, he got us into this war, he has stereotyped Muslims, he basically banned stem cell research and put us behind about eight years, he allowed the U.S. to torture... so many terrible things... now I am fine with you having your own opinion but we should at least give Obama a bit longer before we start hating on him. He has legalized stem cell research, and instead of pumping fear of terrorists into the hearts of Americans, he seems to speak of HOPE and CHANGE.... this is a cute story and I don't think there is any need for you to freak out about it. Just give him a chance to prove himself and don't hate just because he is of a different political party than you.

      She learned what?

How to nod and agree with smooth words from a guy who continually backslides, or outright refuses to make good on promises made prior to his election?

How to buy into the mass belief that President Obama has any power except the power to obey those who payed for his puppet position in his new white house?

Your comment about what learning is going on in the last day of school could be easily applied to the rest of the days. PUBLIC SCHOOL! Supplying the best education in how to comply with believing in what your government and masters want you to believe.

An education in creative, critical thinking, inviting students to seek information aside from what is supplied in their text books or official stories of the government is highly discouraged.

Ask kids who have gone to school to deliver speeches, essays, etc. on why the official story of 911 makes no goddamned sense, what happens to them.

      MildGhost,

These campaign promises were pretty fucking important this time my friend.

You see, Bush really launched us on a path which we need to back away from. We are not the middle eastern police force. We need to return civil liberties to the PEOPLE. We need to stop torturing people, and balance the scales by bringing justice to the feet of those who wrote the blank check on those practices. We need to get our troops out of harms way in countries that do not wish our presence.

Obama does not appear to be willing to take his promises seriously. He is already lining up his excuses, backpeddling, and outright denying to take the steps necessary to walk the walk, he was so eagerly talking about.

If you cannot see he is just the same puppet, with a different mascot, you are not paying attention!!

Cool putting words in my mouth man! The fact that you insinuate that I believe Obama will make a difference makes me physically ill. So here is what I am going to do, I am going to tell you that I actually like the fact that our planet is barreling down a hill of shit, and will most likely be ruined by us. The idea actually brings great comfort to me. The fact that we have drunkenly stumbled into unimaginable amounts of pollution brings the Earth that much closer to being wonderful again. The sooner we are gone, the sooner I am happy. So I am going to keep hoping things get worse, and wait for you to realize there is no such thing as a neutral living.
