Officer resigns after more drug charges

Sgt. Michael Conroy of the Virginia State Police said Bond attempted to buy methamphetamine at a Wythe County residence. He was charged with one felony count of attempting to possess methamphetamine, one misdemeanor count of attempting to possess the painkiller Lortab and one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana.

Bond was off duty at the time of his arrest, Conroy said.
