Hawk, 41, skated in the grand foyer and the nearby Old Executive Office Building, with the permission of White House officials.
The skateboarding icon, also known for his popular brand of skateboarding video games, posted photos to his Web site and Twitter page.
One photo shows Hawk on his skateboard with his hands in the air in what appears to be a hallway.
"...and here is my exit," he wrote in a message on Twitter, which linked to a picture of him skating. "Supposed to return at noon for the First Fathers event if they let me back in."
Hawk posted other insights from his Washington visit on his Twitter page, telling fans about eating Frosted Flakes cereal inside the gates of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. In another tweet, he says "back at White House, Tweeting live from the Diplomatic Room. Unbelievable."
Hawk joined other dads, athletes and celebrities at a Father's Day forum hosted by President Barack Obama. Celebrity chef Bobby Flay helped man the barbecue grills for a White House picnic for the attendees, which included NBA players Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat and Etan Thomas of the Washington Wizards.
"The Prez addressing all of us fathers before we split up to visit DC charities," Hawk tweeted. "D Wade & Etan T make me feel short."

Is everyone just skipping the end of the article where it says they split up to visit charities? So yeah, everyone might be hating on the big show of celebrities having lunch at the White House, but don't let that overshadow the fact that they were also there for a good cause.

The White House isn't Obama's or any president's house it's ours. Or so I thought. And why wasn't that barbecue or whatever it was on our tax dollars for homeless people? Celebrities and skateboarders do not impress me. Seems he really does like being on TV and getting publicity for himself. I saw him speaking somewhere in a tux going over how swatted that fly. Has he jumped the shark yet? Give me a break. And this isn't news.

All food except for state dinners is under the presidents wallet. So this actualy did come from Obama's pocket not the public expense. The food was distributed to underpriviledged D.C. youth who were there for discussions on fatherhood in a city where many fathers are absent from childrens lives. Obama grew up without the bennefit of a father in his life, its an understandable topic of focus for him.
Each of the celebrities are high profile fathers there were also fifty undersung fathers there with thier children each left the White House for service projects in D.C. designed to have fathers working with thier sons and keeping active in thier sons lives as well as improving the D.C. community.
As far as I'm concerned this is leading by example and using the power of celebrity for the common good. Michelle Obama was also at a service project in San Fransico with California's first lady, Maria Schriver.

I guess if Chelsea and her buds can eat popcorn in the Red Room smearing oil on the antiques why not skateboard on the marble floors.
maybe a pool party in the fountain, or put green dye in on St. Patty's Day! - 2 years ago

So unbelievably irrelevant and unworthy of a feature; Things are going downhill for Current and those who rely on this website for 'news'.

It seems that way for majority of the media. Looks like there isn't anything else to report on but how "cool" Obama is and how celebrities love him so much. After all, isn't that what's really important when you are President of the United States? What'd be "cool" if I could read some real news instead of these stories that feel like propaganda.

I have never had anything good to say about Hawk since he sold Animal Chin into slavery! If you want to know the real Tony Hawk, read the Geoff Rowley Interview in Thrasher Magazine, it will make you think twice about smiling when you see Tony...

It's great to see that even in an economic recession our money is being well spent on Father's Day picnics for famous celebrities and sports stars. That makes me feel ever so confident that our country is heading in the right direction.

What's with these fucking photos of Obama that look like the leaders of totalitarian nations.
For fuck sake these photos should be on walls in Venezuela, North Korea, China, and the former Iraq.
It's bullshit propaganda like this that is embarrassing our nation.

Its just american kitch. We did it for Kennedy, both Roosevelts, Ike, and even Truman in the last century. Heck I had a bubba t as a kid with some kind of funny saying. People all over the world have embraced Obama's image, it happens some times. While I do think its somewhat tasteless and crass comercialism, American democracy is also a myth making machine. Some times elections define eras and in America that may mean an era for the world.

Ok he's realy laying it on thick. I mean a president advocating for fatherhood by showing that even the most famously hang loose of all celebrities pro skateboarders care about the responsibilities of fatherhood....and can still shred in the White House. That's not how you reach the kids. You do that by declaring pre emptive war, that stirs the heart every time!

Another News story? Did Obama kill another fly while Tony scuffed the White House floors?
I remember when another guy was in the White House all we heard about was two wars and soldiers dying.
I guess the wars are over and no more soldiers are getting killed. Go figure?

Obama didn't start those wars. North Korea is continuing to be belligerent, pirates are on the high seas, Iran is in the throws of a proto revolution, and nuclear armed Pakistan is in the midst of serious armed conflict while tensions with its Indian neighbor have never been higher.
Give the man a break between those inherited issues as commander and chief and the collective global economic woes he's got a lot on his plate.
Let him be Dad in cheif as well if it gives him comfort and sets a good example for other fathers or would be fathers. After all he experienced the pain that comes from the lack of a father in the family, and wrote a book on the subject, Dreams From my Father, long before entering the political realm.
The nation can get a little bit of relief to see popular cultural figures doing some good and taking responsibility for once, rather than simply being vapid automotans. Tony Hawk does community service and outreach to young fathers in Washington D.C. and gets to skate in the White House, its a pretty cool message, its news worthy.

wonder if Tony's next video game will have the West Wing as a skate park? :)
That would be cool. Maybe even have an Obama like character in the game.:)
