This should be removed now. If that was my mother i would not want her death to be used to prove any point. And certainly not want it plastered round the internet. The news that people have been killed in Iran has been well documented and to say that this video gives anything new that is not already well documented with regard to the situation is not true.
Its a terrible situation in Iran I do not condone and the outcome will no doubt effect us all. But hate breeds hate, and i think this video is in the hate camp.

I agree that it should be shown. So many do not know the truth. Thanks Highroller for showing the world the truth of what is happening in Iran. Its hard to watch the videos, but the truth must be told.

I agree this should be shown. Knowing the truth of something is one thing, knowing the reality of that truth another. I believe if we'd never seen the reality of the torture of detainees through pictures it would have remained an abstract left to our imaginations and not the reality of it. This beautiful and brave young woman was there to peacefully express her God given rights. The horror of her death needs to be seen by everyone in condemnation for those responsible. They have silenced her voice but in the process thousands more will speak out for her.

Yes, this should be used to show the world what is really happening. People must see for themselves the truth. Our usual media would never show this. It's a shame on them.

we arent being kept from the truth!
We know that people are dying over there there have been reports about it already. We should already know how bad it is we shouldnt have to cheapen this innocent womans life to tell us what we should already be more than aware of.
If this is what it takes prove a point then we are pathetic.

Using a graphic video of a person dying, which will only create fear and anger in people, to prove a point is insulting to their family and the victim who lost thier live.

I disagree on two accounts- "only create fear and anger in people"
The main emotion I have found people are feeling when they see this video is sadness. Pure sadness.
"insulting to their family and the victim who lost thier live." In my opinion. Letting her death be censored and forgotten would be the insult.

Her name was Neda.
And yes, it should be used to prove a point. The point is to show the world the violence the Iranian people are facing at the hands of their own government right now. Don't let that woman die in vain. It is disturbing, it is gruesome, it is violent, but we can not just close our eyes to things we don't like to see.

the point shouldnt have to be proven in the first place. people know how evil and corrupt leaders are they shouldnt have to cheapen the life of an innocent woman to prove some finite point.
This was someones family and loved one, she had a life all her own that was seperate from this conflict she did not set out to prove a point she was merely watching the protests.
I stand by what I say there is no reason her death had to be displayed to show what is clear as day. Its insulting to her life, to who she was and to her family and loved ones.

I disagree. No matter what SHOULD be we must face reality.
Sometimes images and people become symbols, historical representations of a movement. Such is the case with Neda. She will literally be remembered as a hero in the fight for freedom. How is that cheap? How is that insulting?

who is to say thats what she wanted?!
Who is to say she woke up that morning prepared to die, ready to become a martyr?!
What if she wanted to live through that day what if she wanted to live til she was old and ready to die by natures good grace. She didnt choose this it was forced on her thats why this is an insult to use her death to prove a point.
She wasnt out to be a hero she was just a normal person who wanted to live a good life.

"who is to say thats what she wanted?!"
Who the hell wants to be shot in the heart by their government police and bleed to death in the street?
Never did I imply SHE wanted any of that!
I don't understand how her death would somehow be better if she hadn't become a symbol of the movement. You think it's better to die alone on the street with no recognition, just another victim with no name and no face? You think that's less insulting, that her and her family would prefer that?
I don't.

I say show it.
It's easy for us on our couches, watching TV, with our Coca-Cola or Coors in hand, and our Disney lives, where the biggest injustice we know is being short changed at the burger joint, to be offended by reality that people face in other places in the world.
You should be offended. It's offensive that this is reality.
That's the point.
This is reality. Does it make you squeamish?
Please try to spin it, now that you know their injustice.
Put it all out in the sunlight. The more truth there is, the better.

Im sorry I understand you are showing this to bring an important issue to light (and make it understood how important it is) but this has to be up there with one of the worst things I have ever seen.
This video shouldnt be used to prove a point, no matter how important that point is.

Hassan | 06.20.09 - 12:19 pm | #when it is planned when Khatami meets with top secret US officials in Egypt a month ago
when Mousavi does not report does not says nothing exactly clear , when his letter to Khamenei starts with asking why Hashemi was insulted by Ahmadi nejad
when there are arms found around us
when unexploded bombs are hre and there
One has blowing himself up but was the only victim of his attack
when some unknown paid forces put fire at busesThen
we are not safe , when people are so stupid they don't ask mousavi why he did not wait a single day after elections to start calling for protests why he did not do nothing official just hiding , sending people as cover to bring Americans here , to make their way clear
then who shoots and who dies
I live at this street
the place is near me
I will ask
lida | Homepage | 06.20.09 - 12:27 pm | #HAssan remain in America
I defend this gov
we must protect ourselves , people must understand they are used as shield , myself I dissarmed a young bo who wanted just to beat people he was not basij he was not pasdar he was not police he just used the occasion to beat some people on VAnak sq two days ago
there is almost 50 -50 ahmadi nejad supporters and Mousavis
I am Ahmadi nejad
my brothers are Mousavi's
My parents are Ahamdi Nejad's
I can't play the video unfortunately
lida | Homepage | 06.20.09 - 12:32 pm | #A basij on a rooftop heh ?
HOw do you know he's a Basij or something else, Twitterman ?
Can't it be some agent provocateur works ? Is it so far fetched in such a context ?
Don't it occur to us that CIA has now taken off its gloves to try to push this unrest into a no-return point ?
Geez, they killed 3000 fellow Americans on 9/11 to initiate their middle-east conquest.
Advise to all viewers : from now on, Truth is as elusive as ever !
Remember the story from the Iraqi soldiers throwing babies from their incubators.
To all Iranians following Mousavi, you are being conned into destroying your own country.
Remember how the West supported Saddam, only to destroy him some years after.
