The defeat of the movement protesting the outcome of presidential elections 10 days ago would not only threaten global stability but could lead to nuclear war, Pahlavi told a news conference here.
"Their defeat will encourage extremism from the shores of the Levant to the energy jugular of the world," said Pahlavi, who left Iran a year before the ouster of his father, shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, in the 1979 Islamic revolution.
"At worst, fanatical tyrants who know that the future is against them may end their present course on their terms: a nuclear holocaust," Pahlavi told a room packed with reporters at the National Press Club in Washington.

One more thing I want to add...the Iranians are in my opinion waaaaaay over rated as a military power..keep in mind that they fought a war with Iraq that lasted for eight years with no changes in borders or anything of consequence..so the army that we disposed of in about 10 days give or take in the gulf war.
This same army that the Iranian army couldn't defeat in 8 years we disposed of in about ten days in 1991...I'm just sayin..... - 2 years ago

Eleganza:
It took Iran that long because we kept interfering, and giving Saddam weapons and training. We secured shipping routs that the Iranians cut off, we had the tanker fleets registered as US ships and then gave them naval escorts, we retook oil platforms and cleared mines... Iran did not win that war because we made it so, but we also did not crush them as we had hoped. They are very powerful militarily, even the USSR was not able to hold up under such a campaign.
That said, the son of the last Shah has no right or reason to be saying completely baseless things like that.

The US never disposed of the Iranian army, neither in 1991 or at any other time. I think you are confusing Iraq with Iran, Eleganza.

This guy is of course entitled to his opinion, but that's all that it amounts to, one persons extremely biased opinion. One could make a rather convincing argument that it was his fathers miserable record of abuse of power that created the ongoing nightmare in Iran today.
The one thing that I am sure both the mullahs and the protesters would agree on would be the hatred of the Shah and the dreaded savak and their CIA instructors...take whatever this parasite says and proceed in the exact opposite direction. - 2 years ago

I'm sorry to see the Pahlavi regime jumping on the bandwagon......Iran is not a nuclear threat.
Israel wants their old friends back in power.
Don't get lost in the power play.

Why in the world would the press let this guy say anything or report it? This guy is the son of a clown who sat on a golden throne and crapped all over the Iranian people. We have no kings or queens in AMERICA. This clown should be given a rather large kick in the ass.

This guy needs to keep his head down, the last thing Iran needs is him and people like him, give Iran a fair democracy where the people vote on the issues and the most votes win sort of like America was supposed to be until the Politicians got a hold on it. Come to think of it America could use a system where the popular vote wins and people have the right to vote on anything that affects thier lives. Some of these Yahoo's running America with thier hidden agendas need to be weeded out and gotten rid of without a persion for sure. People serving two countries like the Jews in congress who you are not sure which country they are serving and how they reason when casting votes. All congress people should have first alliance to America and not another country, Liberman is a good example of a person who would rather send America to war to defend Israhell than to take into consideration the feelings and the mood of the American people. If America and its freedom and safety is not your first priority then they should not be allowed to hold office, there are others as well Boehner etc, these people would put America at risk for thier personal gain. This is entirely unacceptable. America should not stand behind a terrorist so called country.

This guy never even lived in Iran as an adult and certainly never in the society there as it exists today. He is the scion of a non existent government that was known mostly for being horribly corrupt when it did exist. His opinion is supremely unimportant.

"At worst, fanatical tyrants who know that the future is against them may end their present course on their terms: a nuclear holocaust,""
WHY...THE FUCK...WOULD WE TRUST THE OUSTED SHAH'S SON ON THIS MATTER.???
christ, might as well beleive limbaugh. moreover, even israel admits that Iran will not have the capability to produce the bomb until at least 2014. And this election indicates that in the future we can look forward to a more secular liberalized Iran more open to dialogue with the west and lest ideological rhetoric. even if mousavi doesn't get in now.
such bullshit is expected from the son of the shah.
