"Is Mr. Obama an American???!!! Is he really in favor of freedom?" - Abe, you know the answers to these questions. No, he is not an American - he is a Kenyan muslim, not even a black man, as he is predominantly arab. Freedom? Why, when he is usurping power in the good-old US, granting more and more powers to the government - largest power grab in US history - what freedom?
I am glad to see so many realistic responses here on this blog. Some names are old friends - and a few new ones. Keep up the fight - the cybex's and the other leftards will never change - but the hundreds and possibly thousands of others who read these blogs - they need to know how the real Americans think, what we feel about an impostor sitting in the white house. - 2 years ago

Quite true- last night on the news, a talking head referred to him as "African American". His ancestors were not slaves during the Civil War. His father was a man of wealth in Kenya. His background is Muslim, not Christian. Hussein is an Arabic name, not African American. Right on, Gordy

You are nuts. Do you really think the "real Americans" would let an imposter enter office - or.. are there just not enough "real Americans" in America?

It's cool that you are recognizing the tough circumstances black people had to deal with prior to Obama's father coming to America, but an African-American by definition is a person of color who is born in America of African ancestry, hence the name "AFRICAN-American". I have documented black ancestors from pre-Civil War America, I also have Cherokee, Caucasian, and black Caribbean ancestry. When I get followed around stores, I can't very well tell them.."No need to follow me, I'm not REAL African American!" Just like Obama was certainly marginalized at various points in his life. Are Italian Americans whose parents came during WWI not American because their parents didn't come 'during the Civil War'? Silly argument

Also, Obama was raised by his white mother and white grandmother and grandfather. His friends were white, black, and indigenous Hawaiian. His ideologies, language, essentially nothing has nothing to do with his father who he saw literally twice in his life. He does relate/ group himself with the color his father gave him, because the world gives him no choice, but Arabs??wtf?

Mr. Obama should stand up very loudly and openly and CLEARLY for freedom and democracy.
He sounds like he likes the Iranian government but he would like them to treat their people more nicely. Is Mr. Obama an American???!!! Is he really in favor of freedom?
Now I understand why so many millions are asking to see his birth certificate.
That is an issue that will not go away.
Those who are in denial, always try to quickly dismiss that question, and sweep under the rug, but they have no real answer.
Why is my birth certificate and every one of the other presidents' birth certificates and every citizen's birth certificate so accesible??!! - 2 years ago

what would u do if u were president? Say Iran is awful and start a war? that's exactly what bush did and it didn't really work out for us. I think Barack is trying to "stand up for freedom and democracy" in a different way, which i am totally fine with.

"engaging the regime." Exactly. I don't believe that the US media is truly appalled, however. Their love and adulation for BH Obama is too great- they are incapable of seeing any flaws in the man. Obama's failure will not destroy his presidency. He will be roundly criticized (by the republicans, of course, not the dems) and since the dems are in power, this will all be brushed off. His silence is deafening, and by staying silent he proves his incompetence- but that is no big deal for the dems. Their adulation and total obedience is complete and total. Contrast this to JFK's statement that said we will defend and speak out for freedom anywhere in the world. I see collector plates, posters, books, that make Obama out to be a god. Not because of his character, certainly, but because he is our first "African American" president (as the media calls him.) Technically. he is not. His family is from Kenya, not the USA. His ancestors are not former slaves, they are Kenyan farmers. This man is just slimy, an amoral empty suit. No wonder he stays silent on the travesty in Iran.

I am glad to see Americans so involved, wanting to know about what's going on in Iran, the blogging and tweeting. I only wish they had payed as much attention to their own elections. But remember, no matter whose side they are on among themselves, they all hate The United States. That's why it's taken so long for Obama to speak up against the election and it's aftermath, he's on their side.

Neda died because she got out of a car that was too hot. In the midst of protest she stepped out onto the street and was shot and killed in front of her music teacher and father as well as various other onlookers including the person who shot the video. Neda died as a casualty of the Iranian protest. Will she be the last to die because of it? I highly doubt it. We are seeing more and more videos that are becoming more and more violent and atrocious. When will governments realize that in order to sustain peace we must practice it? Neda will be in my heart forever. I will never forget the look on her face as she died - which says something for the world we live in that I can be among the millions of people who have witnessed her final moments on this earth.

See, Just like OBAMA said - "We need to make friends around the world - people hate us, blah, blah blah"....
HAHAHA! Yeah OK! Yeah, just make friends with a government that wants to "Burn Israel", calls the U.S.A. the Evil Satan and today accused Great Britain of being EVIL. - for “promoting” hate on VOA (Voice of America) - Right, I'm sure if we just talk to these guys, they'll just become our pals!
Maybe OBAMA wasn't clear huh? No, wait, I got it. It’s all Bush's fault. No? Umm, How perplexing! I thought Obama came up with a brilliant plan never thought of before (Talking to them) – Wow, in all the years of middle east peace talks on would think someone, somewhere would have thought of it first huh?
The fact is ladies, IT AIN'T US...ITS THEM...When are people going to suddenly realize you can't get blood from a stone? Err, I mean, a HATEFUL people to be peaceful? How ya liking it now? OBAMA - FAILURE in Muslim Diplomacy? NO WAY... So lets recap-
AMERICA is hated, America is racist, America is evil, personal wealth is evil, etc, etc, etc.I’m almost done – but can’t leave without speaking to the liberals out there when they said “Bush stole the election”…(Yet they have no problem with ACRON stuffing the ballot boxes because it was for their guy). So today in IRAN we had a number of killings, 4 prominent soccer players had their passports taken away and BANNED from playing any longer and are now being flown back to IRAN from Asia all because it was caught on camera they were wearing a bracelet that stood with the protesters…Yeah, I admit it…We are a very ugly country and as Obama said; “Should be ashamed”….Yeah, I agree – We should all use IRAN as the Model country don’t ya think?

@ CybexG - False? So, now your admitting OBAMA is false or did you just forget his words about the middle east - "Make Friends" like these people are like us. They are not like us, they will never be like us and you don't make friends with governments like Iran. You think that's false or only the part where Obama made one of his first plane ride to the Middle East to send YOU folks a False message. You were duked because you can't recognize the difference between your enemies and friends...Poor you huh?

@LemonHarangue Well it seems like today has certainly been quieter - but Mousavi tweeted this just a little while ago. Which may mean things kick back up tomorrow.

The protests are done. What we have now is the liberals in our country trying to make up for the inadequacies of their president and his lack of moral clarity. The annointed one just lacks leadership as well as experience..

@UrbanGypsy One of the reasons why people are watching this so closely is because it seems so similar to the 1979 revolution - in which a largely peaceful revolution did succeed against a determined regime.
Seems rare, but it does sometimes happen.

Ya'lls should read that LA Times bit on her. It makes the scenario a lil' more personal. Sounds like she was a wonderful person. We shouldn't forget about the others that gave their lives either though... Lots of suffering in Iran.

I doubt this will bring about any change in Iran. How can they force the gov't to give up its decision?
Peaceful revolutions do not succeed against determined regimes.

I'm not entirely sure you're right, but I suspect that it will be a long fight.
But if I may take this opportunity to point out that what we are seeing is EXACTLY the reason we have a second amendment enshrining our rights to keep and bear arms.
We will someday find ourselves in the same shoes...sadly, yes, that is my belief. But hopefully we won't have been stripped of our arms by 'well-intentioned' liberals when that day comes.
Every law abiding citizen should own firearms and know how to use them.

This is one of the interesting things - Time magazine points out that the way mourning works in Shi'ite Islam, there's a built-in schedule for further mass protests to 40 days out. (There's a link in the blog.)

yep, I agree. I watched that video and noticed how she looked at the camera...so it bothers me that some people are critical of the use of Neda's image to "glom on" to her death for "political purposes".
HELLO! She made a conscious effort to go, in spite of warnings that she might die, and one of her statements, quoted by a friend of hers, was something to the effect that "it's just one bullet and it's over". She knew she could be martyred but went anyway.
the part that is difficult for me to watch is that I think her friends basically let her drown in her own blood. She obviously took a lung shot. If she'd been rolled on her side to let the blood drain out the side and keep her one good lung clear, she might have survived. But when they laid her on her back, they filled both lungs with blood and killed her.
what I don't get is how Dear Leader Obama will still meet with the Iranians. You can't get clearer proof of the true nature of that regime, and no president should sit down to chat with those folks.
we'll see what he does next. pressures are mounting and the One appears to be back peddling a little. time will tell...
