    • We should have nationalized health care.

We shouldn't be doing it by propping up the health insurance industry. They are a large part of the problem.

    • This "reform" is by slashing government funded Medicare and Medicaid to elderly and the poor and to the people that seriously need it to survive and reform it into a nation wide HMO system. "Lives not worthy to be lived". That's your "reform". Why not scrap the HMO system and reenact the Hillburton system? Because the plan is not to save lives. It's to make money. It's the overhead administrative cost of HMOs that is costly, not Medicare. Now Obama's financiers such as George Soros is using dirty handed tactics by waging attack campaigns against reps and senators who are fighting for the welfare of the people. You Obama supporters better start realizing that this president is quickly becoming more efficient than Bush ever was at destroying the principles of this nation.

    • What the hell, Hitler employed tactics! I'm from Oregon and Washington states new law is a death with dignity bill so a patient who is terminal can end their own life if they choose. This has no bearing on a national health care sytem Bigdog_mike.

    • Oh one more thing, have to plagiarize myself from another article but. . .
      4) All civilized societies have recognized necessities, these necessities must improve and change with time lest we have a regression in class of civility. these supposed changing improving necessities are often if not always socialized by the populous. examples are varied but think, postage, law, law enforcement, government, civics, water, power, electricity, etc. . . of the necessities that have escaped public scrutiny medicine/medical services I believe should/must be next otherwise. "STAGNATION"

1)I'm no dr. and I have no idea if you are, so you telling me "Terminal illness are often preventable if the system allowed for more common examination..." does not mean much to me (nothing personal) although I would say that if the system was of a more preventative nature than prescription, we'd be in a better healthier spot.
2)Of course there is competition, you can choose your HMO, PPO, EPO,(which directly correlate to healthcare) Hospital, Dr, Private Pratice, or Specialist, thats part of the reason people would get a 2nd opinion, thats why hospitals advertise. Because everyone wants your business. And everyone wants to go to the dr.s who have the newest technologies/techniques, and give the best care.
3)Do you think that "fending for ones self is not a mater of age" because typically I would think that newborns, infants, children, and the eldery need more help fending for themselves, hence nurseries, daycares, and nursing homes. Also, I may be on that selfish tip. I was able to "get mine" and there's plenty more out there to be "gotten" you just gotta know where to "get it". In the case of deeming someone terminally sick, wouldn't the elitist, be the goverment, who is telling you to take your more than cough get your lolis test?
      4)lastly, can you plagiarize yourself?
"All civilized societies have recognized necessities, these necessities must improve and change with time lest we have a regression in class of civility..." you call them necessities, but people choose to break the law, people choose to live off the gird, or create their own energy, or not pay their bills, people choose to send emails, and some people choose to, deny medical services.

    • Since you like bullet points . . .
      1) Terminal illness are often preventable if the system allowed for more common examination, and not just "turn your head and cough. . .pick up you lollipop at the front desk" BS but real work ups, requiring scanners, samples and lab work. there just isn't enough resources and personal in the health care profession available to pull this off due to monetary limitations, and a lack of demanding from the people/government
      2) There is ZERO competition in the medical "business" because you can only go to one source for this service and they all treat you the same. have vs have nots...
      3) Fending for ones self is not a mater of age!! You can be sick and infirm at any age, your present model of "I gots mine you gets yours" only works if "I" and "you" can actual "gets" theirs, otherwise the "deeming your sickness as terminal" and by transit a lost cause is an elitist, non compassionate double edged sword that on the receiving end I would wager your tune would change

This brings up interesting applications. Would Government care require you to have your blood taken and scans performed? While it would most likely prevent many deaths and illnesses, to what extent should the government force good health upon you?

    • and as for letting people die, its like i said above, if the gov't deems your 'sickeness' as terminal, then why are they going to want to pump money into you?

    • 1) whats to stop your employer from dropping there business with Private insurance companies (where I can go to the dr. with any condition, whenever I please) once the government inacts its Healthcare policies?
      &
2)Government healthcare savings, actually means cutting what the government would deem unnecessary to you..and what about waiting lists, and being denied procedures?

the system now is not perfect...(and the FDA is whack)
but competion drives business, with out it, things may get stagnant

    • Everybody should have health care. Period. No "ifs", "ands" or "buts" about it. If the private sector can not or will not provide for everyone than the gov. must step in.

Part of being a civilized society is taking care of those who can't (or won't) take care of themselves.

It should make every American ashamed that so many fellow Americans have no health insurance.

YOU may not need healthcare, but what of the millions of uninsured Americans? It's easy to say "Ha, I have a job with healthcare", but simply put not all jobs do-If all Americans ran out to get jobs with healthcare, who would pour your drinks at the bar? Who would start small businesses? What about students who's parents don't have healthcare? What about musicians, actors, artists, writers?

Now this video is scary, of course- totally weird how Doc E flees the scene when the questions get tough. That's always suspicious. But I don't think (and really really hope) that the government and more importantly, the PEOPLE of this country are going to let their friends and family members die to save a few bucks!

    • I don't want or need your healthcare... I purposely found a job with awesome healthcare for a reason...
If anything, the gov't should tend to the children up to the age of 18, and the geriatric over 65.
in my opinion, the rest should fend for themselves.
