Famed TV pitch man Billy Mays found dead in Tampa home

WOW... i wonder what they're going to do with this seasons "Pitchmen" episodes?

I saw a local news clip from Florida with an Interview with Mr. Mays right after the tire blowout on the plane happened. He said the area above where you store your bags in the compartments had fallen down and hit him in the head but "luckily i have a hard head" ... It's so sad, I think the hit to the head had something to do with his suspicious death.

The airline might be screwed. I wish I could find the video link. I've read other reports the airline is stating that he wasn't wearing a seatbelt. ...

I'm so sick of hearing about this guy. It couldn't be less significant to people who didn't know him personally.

Christ. Ed, Ferrah, Michael, now Mays....who's next!?

I don't like to see anyone die young but I sure wish someone would have taught billy how to use a microphone I used the mute button on him more than anyone on TV. I can't stand people yelling at me, especially trying to get me to buy something, I'm sure he meant well and was a nice guy but i won't miss the yelling. Congress is trying now to pass a bill that will put a stop to volume increases during commercials. But R.I.P. Billy.

I like how people are bashing a guy who spent much of his time trying to help the less fortunate and actually studying products before he slapped his name on them.

He was and will likely be one of only two people to ever have any sort of credibility on infomercials.

You must wonder why a common person would not(never) have several days of contribution dedicated to him/her on Tv...

There is video of him picking up his luggage last night after that tire blew and he said he got hit in the head from stuff above him in the plane. He said he was OK he had a hard head, I'm wondering if the coroner will find a internal head injury tomorrow.

He was very likable but to be honest his yelling grated on my nerves.

He was from the Pittsburgh area. His first wife and son still live here! Wow! he lost weight and looked better, who knew?

Billy Mays represented the crass, vulgarity of low end capitalism. In a celebrity drenched culture he too became a figure of interest among the ignorant proletariat who now live "under water", in "foreclosure" or are drowing in CC debt.

If I were a "Leftist" (I'm not), I'd be celebrating the departure of this Commercial propagandist. He promoted all that the left bemoans as responsible for the sorry state of the American working class. Trotsky would have executed him.

It's amazing when a pitchman on a shopping network becomes the most entertaining personality on latenight television.

Gah! Now who's gonna entertain, and enthrall me with various miracle cleaning, hardware, and kitchen products...? Vince Offer?! Fuck no. Slap Chop < Quick Chop... With that said, I'll deeply miss Mays; his commercials never ceased to bring me joy. Oddly though, both Billy, and Michael died this week at the age of fifty.

Wow. He was on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien the other night. :(

I'm wondering if this is a similar death to that of Liam Neeson's wife....thought he was fine after that plane accident, went home and died in his sleep...something to ponder...

On saturday when arriving by airlines the plane a 737 had a front wheel blowout that he was on. That is pretty weird.

He was a guest last year on Jonesy's Jukebox -Steve Jones of the Sex Pistol's radio show on Indie 103.1 before it went off the airwaves here in L.A. It was one of the funniest shows as he used his voice to pitch risque items. He was a pretty cool and interesting guy.

Billy Mays won't wipe with authority anymore.

I'm more shook up about this than Michael Jackson or Farah Fawcett. Damn.
