    • In any economy you should be supporting your local farmers' markets. My aunt & uncle, God rest their souls, had a small dairy farm in upstate New York. As a kid, each Summer I'd visit them, and help pick corn or strawberries which they grew organicly. Having fresh corn on the cob for dinner then whipped creme on ripe natural strawberries for desert was a treat no vegetarian could ever forget. No GMOs. No corporate farming with petrochemicals that destroy the soil's organic basis. Just wholesome healthy food that bright people have been eating for the past 5,000 years which is endangered now by Monsanto. The Inuit Indians of the far North have a saying: "Bird eat worm, we eat bird, worm eat us" So cycle of life continues" Somewhere along the line, humans forgot to maintain the cycle of life. And because of it, the cycle of life won't maintain us. So support your local farmer who does support the cycle of life, and you
will find they realy are the pillars of the community. Call it enlightened self interest if it helps you feel justified, because you're realy supporting your health.
