A prison guard may soon be an inmate after he allegedly planned to smuggle cocaine and marijuana into the Everglades Correctional Institution for money.
Shamel Watson, 30, was speaking with an undercover Collier County Sherriff's Office deputy as he made arrangements to pick up a $1,000 and drugs.
Watson was arrested Wednesday as he crossed into Collier County to pick up the cocaine and marijuana.
Watson now faces charges for marijuana possession with intent to deliver, cocaine trafficking and receiving a bribe.
