HIV/AIDS Has Been Cured!

Image
EliteKane
"An HIV/AIDS vaccine developed in Ontario has applied for Phase 1 human trials. Safety and immunogenicity studies of the vaccine, dubbed SAV001-H, have already been completed on animals. Phase 1 human trials will check the safety of the vaccine on HIV positive volunteers. Phase 2 will then test immunogenicity."

Hopefully this works and is a great accomplishment.

I hope this will not hurt us, but rather help us.

    • sickinjersey,

Have you heard about fasting before chemotherapy? I have heard that after fasting a while your body stops or slows cell division. What this means is that there are none or fewer "young" cells which are much more easily damaged by radiation.

I had only touched on the subject but could not try it because of wasting syndrome and low cell counts

While 43 percent of the non-starved mice died within 10 days of treatment, only one of the 48-hour starved mice died in that time. As well, while starved mice had lost 20 percent of their weight before treatment, most regained it back within four days of chemo exposure while the non-starved mice actually lost 20 percent of their weight post-treatment.

Non-starved mice also suffered toxic side effects, such as impaired movement, ruffled hair and poor posture. The 48-hour starved mice displayed no such problems.

    • ahhh! The gene therapy looks good.Stem cells taught to resist the virus also look good. There are a lot of hiding places. The brain is one. I am having huge trouble with dementia like symptoms and it is getting worse. This week I have changed to a different med to try to reach my brain fluid and kill off some of the virus there as it causes permanent damage. It is know fun guy's wear a condom and use clean needle's if you are a drug addict.

    • I do not think a vaccine could work . There are too many facets of this disease , for instance , its ability to hide in healthy cells . Great money making tool though . It would really sell well .

    • Reputable news source.... I will believe it when I read it one or one is cited as a source. This post is from what can best be referred to as a blog and has yet to be reported elsewhere... t/poster should be ashamed of themselves for this rubbish.

    • aids may have never existed in the first place if you reasearch the matter hiv (the virus that supposedly causes aids) is undetectable as a virus directly the only such in existence, only by measuring t cells levels, can they detect it. then if you look at the time it became prevelent, the eighties, what else was becoming an epidemic? cocaine, do you think drug use could possibly lower your immune system? i do, is it a coincidence that aids became widespread the same time as cocaine? perhaps but it seems suspicious to me, also the big drug companies make billions in grants to research cures that never come for this,, there are many other aspects that dont add up if you look into it

Your science is out of date.

      1) The virus hads been directly detected and photograqphed, and it's morphology is well established.

      2) The earliest samples in america date back to the sixties not the 80's.

      3) IIRC HIV is a mutated strain of SIV which is endemic in several african apes. The introduction of HIV does coincide with the destruction of african habitat and fioshing grounds along with taboos regarding eating bush meat.

As I understand it the most likely vector is someone was either eating or raping chimps.

    • This is phenomenal news! Hope this vaccine works. Also hope they continue research on possible gene therapy for HIV/AIDS patients. This will be an awesome breakthrough!

    • Really Canada has moved a step closer to curing HIV/AIDS virus, really? I'll believe it when I see it. However it's said the cure was found long ago by American health care research, there just not releasing it because it's hard to profit. Anyway American health care system is number 37 in the world, our opinion doesn't matter. I'm saying this on the 4th of July.

it's a vaccine. the multidrug attacks do not cure or prevent, they simply mean that with constant expensive and somewhat toxic treatment the disease will take a lot longer to kill you rather than the previous one and a half to three years. This doesn't cure either but it may prevent infection. This could be a really big deal if it works as well as some other vaccines have on regular viruses.

    • Recovery from AIDS was already discovered in 1987 through using fruit and vegetable juices in the book "Rogers Recover from AIDS" without side effects. This is just another money maker that will be said to be in the works but never come out.

I juice but it is not a cure. There is something in your body teaching it to attack it self. Juice's will help but they are not a cure.I would love that to be so.Any way my virus was trained to respond to medicine before i new any better about saving that as a last resort. My education has been slow and steady. But I have to watch out for sugars and things because of my liver.

sickinjersey, read the book first, written by two doctors. Recovery is possible. I stay away from the word "cure" since that implies you can go back to the means that created it and it won't come back. That's a misnomer. Good luck! I know you can do it if you want.

Thanks . Ihave been slowly stepping back my medicine's and stepping up my diet. Chemo and radiation set me back awhile because i had to go back to carbs and fats and sugars just to stay alive. but now i am getting back towards healthy again.

    • You know, even if they did genuinely cure it, the Amercian FDA wouldn't stand for it- they'd lose too much money on AID/HIV prevention, treatment, and of course propaganda.

      mmmm... humbug.

Generally when the government controls a disease, especially one with a giant research contingent like AIDS they trumpet it to the rooftops. Look at the history on polio , scarlet fever, and measles. The march of dimes was originally a polio specific charity and it is still around, years and years after polio vaccine was developed. They just moved on to other problems.

With TV and what have you, sexually transmitted diseases are the most significant to the populous. It's much more of a problem to an over sexed population than measles ever was. I'm tellin' you; tv, media- advertising has changed everything. They'd lose a lot if they lost AIDs, more than in the past.

    • POSSIBLE FALSE ARTICLE

The article seems to be missing. Slashdot does not seem to currently contain any such article implying that it may have been pulled. more disturbing is that slashdot individually marks it's articles and this leads only to the homepage.

In any event vaccines are preventatives, not cures, and a phase one trial does not necessarily mean it even works, merely that someone thinks it might.

[UPDATE] found the article. It merely claims vaccine in human trials rather than a cure.

    • I think that its funny how not a big deal this is and how this only has 4 or 5 responses. I know its only still in the workings, but man.... had this been ten years ago.. I think its on the way to being the greatest news and its about time.

    • This is excellent news, hopefully the test turn out good results. So we can get these drugs out to people as soon as possible. The next problem is making it affordable because we all know the drug companies would rather maximize profits than cure everybody.

    • It's going to turn us all into zombies!!

Seriously though: I think this is awesome, although the thing is the FDA is controlled by big pharma, and they don't want aids cured as they make more money treating it through a person's life. So, if this actually gets okayed by the FDA, I'll shit a brick.
