Israel Above the Law:
Baroness Tonge of Great Britain declared in Parliament in the UK that "Israel stands accused of War Crimes witnessed by the whole world". Source: Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzIL2ikCuew
Below is a list of the U.N. Resolutions issued against, or ignored by, Israel
At the end are some of the human rights, issued by the Geneva Convention, that Israel has also violated.
All of this infomation was compiled by Jews Against the Occupation, and is available on www.jatonyc.org/
The question is simple:
Israel has always managed to elude UN & Security Council Resolutions. It has never abided by them.
(a) Is Israel above International Law
(b) Will Israel ever be tried for War Crimes against humanity?
---------------
THE LIST:
Palestinian Refugees have the right to return to their homes in Israel. General Assembly Resolution 194, Dec. 11, 1948

Israel's occupation of Palestine is Illegal.
Security Council Resolution 242, Nov. 22, 1967

Israel's settlements in Palestine are Illegal.
Security Council Resolution 446, March 22, 1979
"Determines that the policy and practices of Israel in establishing settlements in the Palestinian and other Arab territories occupied since 1967 have no legal validity and constitute a serious obstruction to achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East."

LADIES and Gentleman and that doesn't include you posters above who are neither, we are Israeli. We do not own your media, we do not hate the Palestinians or want to exterminate them. We do not have any voodoo over you or your government. We are fighting for our lives and our historical homeland and that can be ugly. But rest assured, we are making the best of efforts to retain a democracy. We are Ethiopian, Druze, Sudanese, Iraqi, Yemeni, Morroccan, and Bedouin and we all fight for the IDF together because Israel has offerred us education and free speech unavailable in the Muslim world. We were opressed throughout those lands and have come here seeking asylum. If you do not allow us to defend ourselves, we will perish at the hands of religous uniformity. Gay pride in Tel Aviv will die at the hands of Hamas. The government will become like Iran's. Conquered by Mullahs. Do not believe the hype. Get to know this land of which you speak before you judge what is going on. Get to know the people who are as diverse as America. Do not be a racist pig and spout shit like we controll America, we can barely controll our own little stretch no more than 50 miles wide at it's widest. And know your sources and their biases. You're not Alternative just because you listen to the guy no one else believes. You're just a rebel without a clue for not looking at EVERY view of the story.

anything said against Israel is biased. This line of defense is no longer valid since it is used for ALL criticism against Israel...nor is the defense of being antisemitic. Israel never complies with laws (Look at the resolutions in my post, etc), Israel never cooperates with ANY outside investigations-what is Israel hiding?
Israel would have much more respect if it followed the law and gave back to Palestine what is Palestine's and made REAL steps towards peace. - 2 years ago

I have searched the entire net and have not find one unbiased news source that isn't tied to one faith or another or one side or another to clarify any of the charges here in this article. Figures.

Add to that list that
ISRAEL is stealing the GAS that rightfully belongs to the people of Gaza .
"It appears as though the Israeli government is drilling for natural gas in the buffer zone. That gas belongs to the people of Gaza. It seems to be one of their reasons for stopping us, perhaps they're worried that we may go back and tell the world what we have seen."
On the morning of July 2, 2009 upon discovering the FREE GAZA website had crashed [due to heavy traffic] I phoned Greta Berlin, a founder and coordinator for the movement regarding the status of the 21 activists who were kidnapped on June 30th at gun point by Israeli Naval forces from the SPIRIT OF HUMANITY, while it was sailing in international waters 23 miles off the coast of Gaza.

Here I am considered an anti-Semitic. This is because the truth is anti-Semitic and if you are going to tell the truth that is what you are labeled as. Criticism of Israelis and Zionist Jews is not welcome. It wouldn’t matter what evil they may do. It is okay. Many of the people at this site are as murderous as the Israelis. They joke about the murders or they talk in convoluted circles about how complex it all is. In any case… none of it is Israel’s fault. This item in the MSMtoday says it all. What can anyone say to justify such evil? Nothing… there is nothing you can say.
The people at this forum believe that Bin Laden is still alive. They believe that a handful of Stone Age Arabs attacked The World Trade Center. They believe six million Jews were executed in Germany while the death count at Auschwitz was lowered from over four million to one million. They deny the testimony of the men who were hired to build gas chambers at death camps after the war. This is truth and the truth is anti-Semitic.
I don’t know how many died in camps or how they died. What I do know is that someone is lying and the lies that are being told are for the justification of terrible behavior in the aftermath by the survivors. I also know that Jewish lives are no more important than gentile lives. I also know that Zionist Jewish interests were responsible for more deaths in Russiaand The Ukraine than ever died in Germany and Poland. I know this. This is true and it is anti-Semitic.

When the proverbial hits the fan Israel will be just a memory. They know it too. They try to divide and conquer....they made peace with Egypt in 1979, and now are considering peace with Saudi Arabia. I hope King Abdullah Al Saud won't do that. They need to unite and get Israel out. Israel has America in it's dirty paw and thinks its invincible.
The world is waking up gradually to what they are doing.
Thank you WorldpeaceTv for a brilliant piece. Trust you to get all your facts right, and on the day that the hostages are coming back to Heathrow....six British hostages are on a flight as I write ............after being roughed up by the prison guards in Israel.
I have seen Palestinians, all stateless citizens, around the Middle East.....................and when I had problems in Saudi Arabia they were there to help. Wonderful people......like the exiled Iranians, I hope they get the chance to return home soon..

I can understand why they would feel like they are above the law. we're living in an era when the mega powers are very hesitant to engage in real conflict so they understand that almost regardless of what they do no one will start a war with them over it.
that said, peace won't last forever and when shit does go down people will remember their actions. I'm curious if europe would provide any support to israel. i doubt anyone outside of the US would.

The Fourth Geneva Convention (1949) is a cornerstone of international humanitarian law that ensures minimum protections for civilians in armed conflict and occupation. It forbids, among other things: the construction of settlements on occupied land1, unilateral annexation2, willful killing of civilians3, collective punishment4, torture5, and the destruction of property without a compelling military reason6. It also requires judicial accountability for those who commit war crimes (defined as “grave breaches” listed in Article 147 of the Convention). The Convention fully takes into account military necessity and cannot be violated for “security” reasons.
