Passenger Fixes Broken-Down Thomas Cook Plane

A passenger on a broken-down Thomas Cook jet fixed the aircraft, causing the flight to be only 35 minutes late arriving at its destination instead of the eight hours predicted by the airline.

When the captain announced that the plane had a technical fault and a qualified engineer would likely have to be flown in to deal with the situation, a passeger notified cabin crew members that he was qualified. After checking his credentials, Thomas Cook allowed him to work on the Boeing 757-200.

The unidentified man received a round of applause from the remaining passengers when he reboarded the flight.

    • Thomas Cook airlines don't appear to be the most reliable operator right now, but you've got to love their resourcefulness:

      http://current.com/items/90259721_passengers-asked-to-balance-plane-out.htm

Problem: All the luggage is stored in one half of the plane cos of a faulty hold door and is causing the plane to be top-heavy.

Solution: Get the passengers to act as ballast in the cabin.

      Problem: Broken down jet.

Solution: Scour the cabin for a qualified engineer to fix it for you.

      Easy peasy.
