Police confirm McNair girlfriend behind murder-suicide

Police confirmed Wednesday that ex-NFL star Steve McNair’s(notes) 20-year-old girlfriend killed him before turning the gun on herself.

They said they may never know what was going through Sahel Kazemi’s mind when she shot McNair in his condominium early Saturday, but interviews with friends indicated she was becoming increasingly distraught over events in her life, including financial problems. Police said she also suspected McNair was seeing another woman. end it,” Police Chief Ronal Serpas said.

Police believe McNair was asleep on a sofa at a condominium he rented with a friend when Kazemi shot him in the head. She then apparently shot him twice in the chest before shooting him again in the head and then shooting herself.

She sat next to his body and tried to position herself to fall into his lap when she died. She did, but her body slid to the floor and ended up at McNair’s feet, Serpas said. The gun was found underneath Kazemi.

      He was married but couldn't keep it in his pants, So many fall into this, In sports/Music Industry their are many 'groupies'

      choice! As someone who has been around the entertainment buss. for almost 30 years i still marvel at
      how easily a lot of the black athletes are drawn in so
      easily by some slutty dressed white chick, Not racist,
      But true! These sluts have one goal in mind, A little
      'face time' on camera & YOUR DAMN MONEY!!!
      They (the large majority) are damn sure not in love
      with these guy's. It's a game & a "Art" to many of them!
      Shame he was killed..BUT..He chose the path he walked!

    • This is just bad, we all know he was doing no good, but no one deserves to die. She was crazy and she looked crazy in the pictures. He picked the wrong girl at the wrong time in her life. She had issues before him. I was trying to help her by buying her a 2007 suv, he didn't like her that much, no 2009!

      This had to be one of those cases when the cheater wanted to end the relationship and used a boot to say get out. She was not feeling it and said if I can't have you no one will. She had to be sane to plan out she was going fall after shooting herself. You Think?

    • I'm not saying he deserved this but if he was such a great guy (as people say) why wasn't he home with his family instead of with a crazy girlfriend? And perhaps even cheating on the crazy girlfriend as well.

      McNair's a great guy because of all the work he's done in the community, most notably his response to Katrina. McNair split time between homes in Mt. Olive, Mississippi and Nashville. His family lives in Mississippi, and he recently opened a restaurant in Nashville, where he still served the community at the time of his passing. By all accounts, when he was with his family, he was a great husband and father. When he was away, he got some booty on the side. It's really quite common.

      Im still wondering why they did not just jump to this conclusion... Why was it so hard to grasp that a woman could be the perp in a murder-suicide.....no waiting for the press release when its a man who did the shooting....
