I agree this should have a tech tag.
Away from the booth aspect, I was in a retail mall the other day and notice the location that used to house about 15 pay phones was now just covered in sheet metal. Depressing isn't it? What happens when we get hit by a nuke or bomb that knocks out our electronic devices? Everybody would be totally lost and wishing they had a land line.

That's interesting because I find it a very appropriate "tech" subject. Communications technology has evolved so dramatically that what was once a familiar and expected sight on every downtown street corner is now viewed as a relic and oddity. That is the march of technology and that's why I tagged it as such. I'd appreciate it if you would re-add the tags.
