I beat GTA IV like a cold blooded killer; because I played with the cheat codes. It's kinda the same thing. GM should have had a game over for shitty performance but they entered the "take money from the ones who don't have it" cheat. What a joke. I bet they're going to continue to pump out the same crap too. Go to any american car company and show me a car that isn't a piece of shit... excluding Jeep. Good luck. We should tell the govt. we're bankrupt and we need a bailout from GM next year around tax time. This is ridiculousness.... People are spending our money without even asking first. I think we need to rethink our "freedom".

Wasn't a main argument FOR the bailout to save jobs? GM is still cutting another 20% by the end of the year....this bailout was a lose-lose situation. We spent $50 billion we don't have and didn't manage to save many jobs.
I think that GM should have gone bankrupt and given way to a newer, greener company with fresh minds. Now that's free-market and supplying jobs!

Dear Treasury Dept:
Can I have a tax refund for my tax dollars that went to 'bailout' GM before the bankruptcy?

You missed the point- by owning a majority sharehold, there is no arguing regulations put forth by yourself. Mostly, why the fuck did my tax dollars go to buy this company anyway? I don't own a GM, I don't want one, and frankly they should have just went bankrupt. Did you see the other companies that bought shares? Guess what, they probably could have bought the other 60% or found likeminded companies to. Government buyout was not the answer.
And "EMERGE", they haven't done shit but sign papers. Now they will start spending OUR money to try and rebuild.
I'm sure glad they spent all those tax dollars putting vehicles in the Transformers 2 movie.

I doubt the gov't will try and flex their control over the company
Critics constantly make out to seem like the gov't is trying to control everything and in reality thats just not the case whether it be this, the banks, health care, or education.
Wonder if this will bring back the electric car they had a few years ago

There is your smooth talking fascism, better labeled corporate fascism. Your car will be owned and controlled by the state and if we don't want you to travel you will not. For you are all now slaves.

I'd hate to see what sort of new regulations the gov will impose on a returning company they now have full control over.
This could mean they may make very fuel efficient cars at an extremely affordable price. Also, many americans will change to american manufacturers.
On the other hand, the fed could low jack all of their vehicles, charge rediculous amounts after banning foreign vehicles, or even waste millions on trying to revive a dead company.
But how often is the fed giving away opportunities without taking some rights...

Isn't this just a bailout by a different name? I'd be happy to give the government 61% of my debts-how about you?
