The Sarah Palin embezzlement scandal now has Federal indictments being issued this month that would have crippled Palin’s ability to govern effectively.
So sudden was her resignation that her own children didn’t know she was resigning until they heard the words spoken. Prior to her sudden announcement, Palin gave every indication that she intended to complete her tenure as governor, including during a meeting just 36 hours earlier with Senator Mark Begich.

There certainly are, most dating back to before her selection to be McCain's running mate. Google her name and embezzlement or investigation.
Grampy's boy Steven Schmidt did an abysymally piss poor job of vetting this twit with ten closets full of skeletons. Had they merely asked folks in diners right around Juneau, they'd've realized nothing about Sarah Louise Heath Palin spelled anything but horrific defeat for John McCain.
Had McCain been thinking with his unimpaired brain, instead of his Viagra engorged dick, and seriously wanted to win the Presidency with a woman VEEP on his ticket, he would have selected a woman candidate like Kaye Bailey Hutchinson or Olympia Snowe. But, no, he listened to the knucklehead Schmidt, who assured that the Dems were going to give Hillary the nomination because Bill told them to do so. Both those idiots pathetically assumed that Hillary was certain to be named Barack's running mate, only to wind up stuck with the Palin curse when Hillary wasn't mentioned again until Obama was sworn in and named her as his SOS.

Yes.
Many political observers in Alaska are fixated on rumors that federal investigators have been seizing paperwork from SBS in recent months, searching for evidence that Palin and her husband Todd steered lucrative contracts to the well-connected company in exchange for gifts like the construction of their home on pristine Lake Lucille in 2002. The home was built just two months before Palin began campaigning for governor, a job which would have provided her enhanced power to grant building contracts in the wide open state.SBS has close ties to the Palins. The company has not only sponsored Todd Palin’s snowmobile team, according to the Village Voice’s Wayne Barrett, it hired Sarah Palin to do a statewide television commercial in 2004.
Though Todd Palin told Fox News he built his Lake Lucille home with the help of a few “buddies,” according to Barrett’s report, public records revealed that SBS supplied the materials for the house. While serving as mayor of Wasilla, Sarah Palin blocked an initiative that would have required the public filing of building permits—thus momentarily preventing the revelation of such suspicious information.
Just months before Palin left city hall to campaign for governor, she awarded a contract to SBS to help build the $13 million Wasilla Sports Complex. The most expensive building project in Wasilla history, the complex cost the city an addition $1.3 million in legal fees and threw it into severe long-term debt. For SBS, however, the bloated and bungled project was a cash cow.

Saracuda is finished in politics, especially with the GOP. When Palin couldn't keep her mouth shut long enough for Gramps to take 2008, shouting out to Hillary and her PUMA's that the the Ol' Fart-Bloviating Brain-dead Bimbo '08 ticket had put an end to Clintonian politics, only to fumble and horrifically screw the political pooch with all America watching, the GOP began to immediately distance itself from her. This predicament might have been mercifully averted, had the bought-n-bossed infotainment propagandists been more carefully 'instructed' to END ALL MEDIA COVERAGE of this politically dead media whore on Wednesday, 05NOV08, when she was officially unimportant and Presidentially irrelevant. Now the GOP has to hope and pray that her inethical grifting will deliver them from the evil of her Jerry Springer-esque popularity.
The bad news for the GOP is that 25% of the most reactionary Jesus Campers to ever wave a Bible still support Sarah Palin. If this trend goes unchanged, political retardation stands to irreparably split the 2012 GOP vote in half between the the affluent educated conservatives who can read, and the obtusely ham-fisted raving loons firing Winchesters while waving triple-x labeled jugs of white lightning and illogically praising Palin's virtue and fitness as a culture warrior in God's army in the pews at megachurches during anti-gay-prolife rallies.
I foresee the GOP allowing the allegations of Palin's malfeasance go to trial to conviction, all the way to her sentencing, just to have a shot at 2012. The embattled GOP needs an image adjustment, a needful change in the public's perception of the Republican Party that can be seriously initiated on the good faith of the party's sacrificing Palin to the just consequences of her contemptable greed and and unbridled ambition.

I checked this out because I thought it was new, but the story dates July 4 when I google it, and I can find no recdnt confirmation.
I would love for it to be true; I can be a sadistic bitch; I believe I would take great pleasure in Palin's pain.

Why am i not surprised? Just another drop in the bucket, that's all. What do you expect from a pageant queen? She is an imbecile. Plain and simple. She loves attention and loves power without responsibilty. And anyone who is stupid enough to swallow the Sarah Palin pill is deserving of a firm beating about the head. Why cant these people realise they are getting played like a 2 dollar fiddle? Simply astonishing. I'm really getting tired of the sheer ignorance running rampant in our country.

I'm torn. On the one hand, I would almost like to see Palin be the presumptive Republican nominee for President in 2012 -- the Repubican primaries would be a bloodbath, the Convention would be a joke, and Obama or any other Democrat who comes to mind would annihilate her in the general election.
On the other hand, it might be nice to eliminate RIGHT NOW even the slightest possibility that she could be elected to the Presidency (shudder).
I read something this morning to the effect that her departure was a result of the fact that job opportunities were presenting themselves that were so much more lucrative than the Governor's salary that she "just could not turn them down." (despite, apparently, her sworn oath that she would serve the term and the state to which the people of Alaska elected her).
So if she WERE to be elected President, her oath of office would be an...interesting moment...

CZ as usual I am in complete agreement with you, I just wish there could be something concrete to validate the claim that indictments are being issued other than wishful thinking. I do not want to react in an irrational manner the way that so many do with the claims that " Obama is going to take allll the guns away" I prefer to respond to facts rather than react to speculation. Thats why I enjoy your posts, they respond ...not react

Sarah and Todd Palin see Russia
The sports complex was being constructed at the very same time as the Palin’s home and at one point Spenard filed a contractor’s lien for labor and materials on the home. Both structures, it is said, feature the “same windows, same wood, same products.”
Todd Palin told reporters during the presidential election that he built the two-story, 3,500 square-foot, four-bedroom, four-bath, two-story wood house by himself, with the help of contractors he described as “buddies.”
Federal investigators have been looking into this since last October and now indictments on charges of public corruption and embezzlement are imminent.
It appears that the construction of Palin’s home may have been some sort of quid pro quo arrangement for the massive influx of money from the Wasilla Sports Complex project into the building supply company.
Sarah Palin was then running for Lieutenant Governor, a major step-up position that could further reward those contributing to her campaign, particularly those that were involved with the Wasilla sports complex and the mysteriously inexpensive construction of Sarah Palin’s palatial cabin on pristine Lake Lucille.
Expect the situation to get ugly fast.

Sarah Palin indictment
The embezzlement scandal involves the massive, $12.5 million sports complex that Sarah Palin pushed through during her last term as Mayor in Wasilla. Federal investigators believe the price of the sports complex was inflated to provide free building materials and labor for the Palin home being constructed nearby.
The sports complex’s contractors and architect have strong links and ties to Palin. Spenard Building Supplies was one - they are the largest building supply company in Alaska - and they also supplied labor & materials for the Palin’s home being built at the same time on nearby Lake Lucille.
Spenard Building Supplies was also the supplier and contractor for ex-Senator Ted Stevens cabin. This one building supply company was in bed with Palin, Stevens, the Wasilla sports complex, and is also a major financial contributor to Palin.
