I am typing up the contents of pafes 111, 112, qnd 113 from this great book. You will be stunned to hear the truth from this great writer (John Pilger) whom the Guardian has said that "the truth in his hands is a weapon, to be picked up and brandished nd used in the struggle aainst evil and injstice.'

IJohn Pilger challenges us in the West to 'look in the mirror' at the actions of 'or' governments for the true source of much of the world's fear and insecurity - and terrorism.

John Pilger's vivid eyewittness reporting, backed by meticulous research, blows away the secrets and lies of our rulers and turns a searchlight on events consigned to shadows and an unrecognised yet virulent censorship.

World–renowned journalist John Pilger looks at five nations (Palestine, Diego Garcia, Afghanistan, Iraq, and South Africa) that have undergone long and painful struggles for freedom, yet are still waiting for its realization

    • Here, here! Mr. Jefferson was right as usual.
My husband spouts this quote often!

We have become complacent in our luck to have had liberty, to the point of allowing government to slowly take them away, while speeding up the process at an almost undetectable speed. All the while hyping us into believing they, the government, have our best interests at heart.
Yeah, right. They want to own us and the way to do that is to control us. By taking away our ability to choose for our selves.
By making it manditory to do certain things we will no longer have control to opt out of situations.
Hey, if you own land can you burn your garbage safely at anytime? or are there restrictions?
If you want to put up a shelter for your car? Do you need a building permit? How many government offices do you have to pay before you get an ok for a building permit?
Can you just put a fence around your property to keep your dogs and kids within the boundries? Are there restrictions for that? You bet your sweet bibby there are!

    • Well shoot if your so worried about corruption in the government just remember what our Founding Fathers said, "... God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty.... And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure."

    • Well, jubal has it right, but only if said differently.....
Jubal, is of course, saying that to be patriotic is to be a terrorist. To believe in your country is to be a nut job. I believe, that if you look deep into the eyes of terrorism yes, you will see red white and blue- because the terrorists see us as the #1 enemy that they must wage jihad against. That's all. I love my country- that sure doesn't make me a terrorist.

All over the world, the pro-Israel or Zionist lobby's propaganda sought to control the damage by insisting that the Kahan's Commissions report demonstrated the strength of Israel's 'democracy'; but the commission's

findings changed nothing. Sharon was not disgraced in Israel. To many of his compatriots, he remained a hero. Begin, for his part, publicly threatened journalists who pointed out Israel's complicity in the massacre as the bearer of a ''blood libel' against all Jews,.
What's more, the commission failed to identify the obvious that a crime against humanity had been committed

the vast majority of them civilians. According to UNICEF, ten children were killed for every Palestinian fighter.
By September, the PLO had decided to evacuate Beruit and, overseen by an international force, thousands of Palestinians boarded ships that would take them to other Arab countries, while their women and children remained behind.
Wioth the evacuation complete Sharon claimed that '2,000 terrorists' remained in the refugee camps; offering no evidence, he ordered the 'encircling and sealing' of Sabra and Chatila camps. On September 16, he allowed the Phalangists, who were fascists trained, armed and trained by Israel and with a history of brutality and hatred of Palestinians, into these two camps. They systimatically murdered the elderly, women and children.

The massacre took just under forty hours. THe Phalangists were in constant communicationwith the Israelis, who could see into the camp from a watchtower and fired flares to light their clients' advance, while forcing escaping refugees back into the camps. The Israelites put the death toll at 700; other estimates rise to 3,500; the true figure is about 1,700.

Robert Fisk of THE TIMES was one of the first to enter chatilla camp.after the killers had left. He recalled the experience in his book PITY THE NATION. 'EACH TIME i TOOK STEP', HE WROTE,

(MY GOD... PREPARE FOR THE HORROR iCURRENT MEMBERS)

"Each time I took a stepthe earth moved up towards me. The whole embankment of muck shifted and vibrated with my weight in a dreadful springy way and , when I looked down again, I saw the sand was only a light covering over more limbs and faces. A large stone turned out to be a stomach. I could see a man's head, a woman's naked breast, the feet of a child. I was walking on

dozens of corpses which were moving beneath my eet... families had retreated to their bedroom when the militiamen came through the front door and there they lay ... many of the women had been raped, their clothes lying across the floor, their naked bodies thrown on top if their husbands or brothers, all now dark with death."

On December 16, 1982, a resolution by the UN General Assembly called the massacre of Sabra and Chatila 'an act of GENOCIDE.' The following February an Israeli commission of inquiry, headed by Yitzkak Kahan, President of the Supreme Court, offered no evidence that a single terrorist was present in Sabra and Chatila when the camps were attacked. The commission heard how the Israeli forces had allowed the Phalangists to take away prisoners who then 'disappeared', and it found that Ariel Sharon bore 'personal responsibility' for the massacre.

In June 1982, General Sharon, now defense minister, ordered the invasion of Lebanon to destroy 'the terrorist infrastructure' of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation, which was based in Beruit. This was a terrible, murderous episode. Laying siege to Muslim west Beirut, the Israelis cut off water, electricity and food supplies and bombed the city, using phosphorous shells and American supplied cluster-bombs in the warren of streets. During the first two weeks, an estimated fourteen thousand Palestinians and Lebanese were killed, and twenty thousand wounded, .....

...'carry out special reprisals across the state's borders'. Its first operation, in August 1953, killed twentyrefugees in Bureij camp, Gaza, including seven women and five children. On the night of October 14, Sharon laid siege to the village of Qibya. His orders from Central Command were 'to attack and temporarily occupy the village, carry out destruction and maximum killing, in order to drive out the inhabitants of the village from their homes.' He passed this on to his men with these words: 'Objective: to attack the village of Kibyi, occupy it and cause maximal damage to life and property, signed Major Ariel Sharon.' The emphasis in the original document is his Sixty-nine civilians were killed, of whom the majority were women and children. As a result, the UN Security Council voted to record the 'strongest censure' of Israel.
Like all the other resolutions it was ignored - even though , extraordinarily, the US Department of State expressed its 'deepest sympathy' for the victims and demanded that those responsible for the massacre 'should be brought to account.' Sharon was now notorious,. In 1971 his troops destroyed some two thousand homes in the Gaza Strip, uprooting twelve thousand Palestinians and deporting hundreds into exile in Jordan, Lebanon and Israeli-occupied Sinai.

In 1982 Begin launched a bloody invasion of Lebanon, which resulted in the deaths o eighteen thousand people, mostly Palestinian refugees. Of the assault on civilians, including the continuous bombing of Beirut and the saturation bombings of all major Palestinian refugee camps in southern Lebanon, Begin said, 'Not for one moment would I have any doubts that the civilian population deserves punishment.' He described Palestinians as ' two legged beasts.' As for the massacre in the Sabra and Chatila camps in Beirut, for which the Israelis were held responsible, Begin dismissed this shame as the anti-Setimism of 'goyism', a pejorative term for gentiles.
The most famous 'dissident' is Ariel Sharon, Prime Minister of Israel from March 2001 until his political career was ended by a stroke in January 2006. In 1953, Sharon commanded unit 101 of the Israeli army, whose 'mission' was to 'carry ..........
