    • Reclassify cannabis hemp. It would end the madness! Cannabis is not equal to heroin and should not be in the same category. That's just madness!

One would think our own government would know the difference. There is no evidence of why they are classified the same, except for the madness of Richard Nixon.

Richard Nixon reclassified cannabis for political purposes. What is the excuse of our current representatives. Are they that confused? Aren't they capable of doing research and changing a program, which is destroying the fabric of American families?

We have more people in prison than any other country in the world. That's a failed criminal justice system! How did it happen? Blame it on Nixon first. Then every other politician who has jumped on the band wagon, for their own political purposes. 'It's time' to put the American people ahead of politics. The war on drugs has torn apart families, by putting mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, children in prison for cannabis possession. That's just madness!

Let's work to end the madness! Our political leaders know the truth. Cannabis and heroin are not equal!

    • I say decriminalize it make a law that say you can't carry around more than an ounce in public or you'll be fined 100$ and your weed taken, even with subsequent offenses.

Also this law must say that a single person is only allowed 2 plants.

Also you need a license to sell.

Anyone carrying around an ounce or more is obviously selling and you only need 1 plant for personal use,2 for entertainment.

    • you do realize that a lot of growers of marijuana like struggling farmers in Kentucky need it illegal to make a profit, don't you? I'm sure a significant number of pot growers, dealers, and smokers want it to remain illegal because it raises the prices and gives some of them the illusion that they are rebelling against the system without actually do anything (which is good for them and the system).

However all that flies out the window as soon as one of them gets caught then it's time to "legalize it!" And that is really the crux of the matter - not the legalization but the punishment. The penalties are too harsh especially for possession.

    • Perhaps all the people ignorant about marijuana except the "Reefer Madness" propaganda they were taught, will die off and Generation X and Y will finally give pot the push it needs to be free.

I just hope the drug warriors that have been fighting for legalization all these years get to see it happen.
