If you watched the pre-game you'd know that the president's attendance at this event goes back to 1918. This has less to do with ego and has more to do with tradition.

I agree that President Obama LOVES to be the CENTER OF ATTENTION. His grandparents must have showered him with massive attention. And the Communists and black leaders grooming him for leadership just shined that ego up til it glows.
