As the debate over healthcare reform intensifies on Capitol Hill, we spend the hour with a former top insurance executive who’s now exposing the industry’s dirty secrets. Wendell Potter once served as the head of corporate communications at CIGNA, one of the nation’s largest health insurance companies. Follow the link to Democracy now to view entire interview...chances are it will further polarize your views, which ever way you lean on this issue.

    • ...but these companies are not based around free market principles, they have been coddled by government for decades, helping them oligopolize the industry. The government now wants to fine people without healthcare (those who can't afford it anyways) while also fining companies who don't cover their employees which will only raise the labor costs leading to a reduction in hiring.....IN A RECESSION! This is too much to take sometimes. It's like the republicans and democrats have completely sold us out for their corporate welfare systems that have been around long before Bush ever came in, the last two Presidents are just speeding things up, creating more bubbles.....and the people ignore all facts because the guy is the first African-American president. How sad, that people can't drop the skin color thing and just look at the issues facing our grandchildren. But then again, I guess this is what happens when the uneducated public uses group think while rejecting the Devil's Advocate theory....disgusting.
