Kennicott Alaska a hike on the wild side

We welcome the Lonely Planet film crew this summer. Look for a National Geographic public TV special soon.
Many say we don't need to be discovered. A wilderness community under glaciers with history and a wild summer scene. If you like mountains, climbing, mountain biking or just hiking, this is a unique spot.
We also have a social scene, including live music in nearby McCarthy, National Park service sponsored educational events, glacier guides, flight seeing, nature walks, and the ideal setting for a yoga retreat at the Kennecott Rec Hall.
If you come, be sure to be prepared, there aren't many services, you can't drive all the way there (van/shuttle for last 5 miles) it is a walk around ghost town, and the nearest full service grocery store is about 150 miles away. If that kind of adventure sounds good, look us up.
