The Church only has the largest social service network in the world. Hospitals, soup kitchens, adoption agencies, food banks, international aid, You wanna give money to a warlord in Darfur? So he can buy more AK 47s? The Church takes care of the poor- it would help if you OPEN your eyes.

    • "(sigh) another excuse for the catholic bashers to hold a catholic bashing orgy. Anti-catholicism- the last acceptable predjudice. Maybe one day, people will not be so judgemental and narrow minded, especially in regard to the 265th successor of St. Peter. For some reason, people who preach tolerance and diversity ignore their own beliefs when they spout their bigoted speech."

Hi my name is confirmation bias. What I'll do for you today is ignore reality and go on a rant that has absolutely no solid ground in the real world.

The power in me is that anyone can do me. The ability to say anything without evidence is globally known and constantly under use.

So I say to you, thank you for glorifying me once more. I enjoy being here and I hope that my job security stays as tight now as it has for the last 5 thousand years.

You bringing up something that happened a few centuries ago? Yeah, Muslims never slaughtered any Catholics. Catholics trying to rule the world? Are you reading those kooky Jack Chick tracts AGAIN? Mr. & Mrs. Everyday American Catholic- why do you have so much bigotry and intolerance? I don't see how Pelosi or Sibelius or Kennedy are trying to rule the world- they're your people- everyday catholics like me just want people to stop attacking people of faith- catholics particularly. Bigotry is everywhere- Penn and Teller, Dennis Leary, Bill Maher, Janeane Garofalo, I could go on- that bigotry wouldn't draw any applause if it was directed at Jews or homosexuals.......

My friend, you condone the continuation of bigotry, ignorance and violence in the name of some deity or other, be it Yahweh, Jehovah, "god," allah or Joseph Smith.

It is amazing that here in the Twenty-first Century merely because an old man, be he pope, ayatollah, iman or rabbi, flounces around in dresses, funny hats and red patten-leather shoes is allowed to say the most stupidly outrageous things and get away with it because he has a telephone hot-line to some deity or other.

    • The fractured wrist + The Pope's vow of celibacy is just too much of a temptation for a joke... but I'll resist (he didn't LOL).
