Today Show Debates Legalization

copperdragon
After reviewing a new political advertisement calling for the full legalization of marijuana in America, NBC’s highly rated Today Show took on a debate of the issue. High honors go to Marijuana Policy Project’s Aaron Houston for presenting our side's common sense arguments, including reminding the rest of the world that marijuana is far safer than alcohol. Make no mistake, we are winning this debate, and a new poll out today showing the highest support ever recorded for legalization proves the point!

    • What an unfortunate person to represent the opposition to the legalization of marijuana. She mentions the country trying to push health issues, but she didn't seem to be the example of health herself. She clearly is scripted. It's her job to say what she says. She obviously is not authentic or informed.

    • Could she mount an honest campaign about the negatives of cannabis? Can she claim one death from cannabis? Anti-cannabis individuals always talk about tobacco and alcohol. They don't have the debate about cannabis alone, cause they don't have the evidence.

Every time they have sponsored a study to prove the negatives of cannabis, it works out the opposite. It proves the positives and they hide the study. We as tax payers have paid for many studies, which were never released, because they did not support the desired results.

It's time to stop spinning. Bring on the actual studies that support the negatives, along with the studies which support the positives. Without including cigarettes and alcohol, which really is comparing apples and oranges. Cannabis is not tobacco, or alcohol.

Let's have a cannabis hemp discussion. Hemp is a casualty of the war on drugs. It does not have THC, but is illegal none the less. Hemp could be an industry unto it's self. If President Obama would reclassify cannabis hemp, the discovery could go on for years.

Bottom line is, cannabis hemp should not be classified as equal to heroin. No matter what one thinks, facts do not support the current classification of cannabis.
