None of them are "too fat" to model. Certainly not to fat to be in TV shows, films or calendars. The bikini thing is back as fad, marketing...etc. We now have bikini coffee houses in So Cal. All those people could jobs.Too fat for certain runway work. Yes not all though.

Interesting because skinny women usually stop having a monthly cycle. Women need fats in their diet to produce estrogen. Which you need if you are going to have any kind of fun in the sex department.
Besides I've heard men say that a woman with curves has more cushion for the pushin'

Takes all kinds for marketing. Just depends who you are...they are...the product and brand. Also, people always run off at the mouth to get attention. See? I just did!

think that some use the term "fat" on great looking girls or guys to derogate them or put them down.
(some people do that to anyone regardless of model look or just any beauty)it happens in any place, probably more so in the fashion world.
It also happens to people of all looks & sizes.
unless u are unhealthyily obese or anorexically underweight be confident in who you are.
its hard i m sure when yr employer determine yr size in case of modeling industry but isn't that discrimination?
pretty soon some fashion houses may run out of people to hang their clothers on, tell them to get
a wire hanger if they want a thin frame! - 2 years ago

i like a little meat on my bones if you catch my drift. skinny chicks naturally aren't bad but the "model" skinny ones are not really attractive

How in the world would someone consider this woman too heavy? I'd be deliriously happy if I looked like her!
The fashion industry is ridiculous. I've been thin--like, tiny thin, under 100 lbs thin--and you know what? I felt horrible. I was exhausted, I nearly passed out when I stood up, and I was miserable. It's not worth it, and society needs to stop selling girls on the idea that being excessively tiny is beautiful.
How about being the weight that is healthiest for you, as an individual? Someone who's healthy, happy, and not obsessed with their weight is the most attractive of all!

I've never looked to models as the standard anything. I've never been to a runway show. I don't know anyone who has. From what I've seen on TV and the web, I don't know anyone who would wear what they wear on runways. I really don't know why models and runway shows get so much play. Generally speaking, I think models look frail and weak.

You really just have to be a model of a skeleton these days to walk the runway. All humans will be replaced one day by robot skeletons..... Hopefully.

I know that the fashion industry is a critically important economic sector, and I feel pretty darned good when I find a suit with just the right fit and cut. But when I listen to people in the industry speak or read what they have to say, the word "SHALLOW" is hard to put aside. There ARE a number of truly gifted people whose work is a wonder to behold...but I think they are in a much smaller minority than is the case in most other industries.
The great irony in the U.S., of course is that the models keep getting skinnier (which doesn't even seem possible) while obesity has gone way beyond epidemic proportions to the point where the "average" American is approaching the obesity threshold. 20 years ago models didn't "look like the rest of us." Now they might as well be Martians for all they represent "our" species.
But I think we all know that if confronted with a choice of fashion magazines before a long flight in which one used beautiful but skinny models and the other used average Americans as models, very VERY few people would pick the latter. I know this makes me shallow, too, but I see enough "average American" real estate in the mirror after my shower each morning.

This is the goofy fruitloop that says Heidi Klum is too heavy and too busty.
A nobody designer and obviously blind and stupid to boot.
It's shit for brains mouthy little queens like this one who make women feel bad about what they should see as a beautiful and healthy body.

I don't see how criticizing someone for being so thin is any better than saying someone is too fat. Yes, this girl is a lightweight, and no, no one listed on that "too fat" list is involved in any obesity health crisis, but blatantly criticizing another person's body outright isn't going to help the overall struggle with body image at all.

That junkie look is distracting . Even with actors and actresses , I want to follow them around with a spoon of peanut butter , saying " Eat this and grow strong !" .. Remember Marilyn Monroe ? Even as far back as the 70s it was fine to look healthy . If you are healthy , you feel great and keep that attitude , then you are beautiful . Unless you find powerful vivacious people intimidating or unnerving ... I think actors are getting too emaciated looking these days as well .

This has really gone too far. Girls in my generations minds are being warped if we are taught to believe that she is too fat. This probably is not going to change anytime soon either.

This industry is/has become frightening...it needs serious attention...3/4 of aspiring "models" on "Australia's Next Top Model"...uuuurrrrggg, were seriously underweight...thankfully, the girl who won, was not a picture of malnutrition...but showing our young girls that it was acceptable to even be accepted looking anorexic...well...no explanation needed...damage done...

I think Karolina Kurkova looks fab! The only difference between the pic above and this one is the cut of the bathing suit. Had they put her in one size larger bottoms, no one would have said anything.
Its just sad, I own some designer clothing and I definitely dont have a runway model body...yet all the clothing looks great on me. Designer clothes arent necessarily designed for rail thin girls, thats just how the designers want to present them because to them the models are essentialy clothing hangers. I wish more runways would just use slender healthy girls with bodies like Kurkova....yeah shes got a bangin body but its not unrealistic and to me that makes the clothes more appealing because I look at the models and say "yeah I could look like that! That dress could look like that on me!"

A lot of designer's design with a young boy's body in mind and so that's what the clothes look good on.
This model is NOT FAT.
She's HEALTHY!
We should quit buying these designer's clothes until they design for healthy women not anorexic models. - 2 years ago
