July 18th Health Care March in Portland, ME

League of Young Voters, SEIU, UVAW, Maine People's Alliance, and other organizers held a rally and march in Portland Maine on July 18th in support of health care reform.

Hundreds of people from all across the state were in attendance, in what was described by the press as the largest rally yet on the issue of healthcare.

    • Oh wait, the unions, UNIONS, and the Congress would not sign on those insurance policies we would get. And, if the Democrats, would have worked in a TRUE BIPARTISAN MANNER, we might have a real opportunity to reform. First fix the broken parts, before creating a bunch more of government run travesties!
      Wake up folks! The taxpayers are getting exhausted.
      Common sense first! And if they could not run Fannie and Freddie, or any other programs, they will kill this. Clean up what we have, first! Slow Down! Work with both parties! Quit rushing to shove another mess down our throats! Tea Party Goer!

      why be bipartisan when the majority of americans identify themselves as democrats? i'll go out on a limb and say that if there are huge democratic majorities in both the house and the senate, as well as the president, that's a strong message from the public. i'm sorry, but the republicans, you included, need to realize that you are in the clear minority. in a democracy, the majority rules. end of sentence
