Universal Single Payer health care is the only choice that makes sense.

Maine is a very liberal state and this rally is no surprise, However, they are experiencing a growing conservative movement. There was another rally in Portland that day that was "anti-socialized medicine". After all, what's the point of giving everyone an insurance card if no one can get in to see a doctor???
We need more doctors not more coverage.

I have footage of that "other rally."
There was like 10 people to the 200 or so who were there for health care reform.
The "anti-socialists" were also crazy racist people, who didn't know anything about the health care issue.
And yes, we need more doctors, but we need more coverage first.
I am uninsured. I cannot afford any meaningful insurance plan.

Furthermore, no we don't have a growing conservative movement.
The number of voters in the Republican primary were cut nearly in half what they were 2003.
The GOP is waning here.

I didn't say the conservative base was as large as it was back before the hippies came to town, but from what I see for links in your state, there seems to be equal sites for liberals and conservatives alike. Plus, don't you have two Republican, if you can call them that, senators? It seems like Maine votes for the candidate and not the party?
As for insurance, yeah, it's expensive everywhere and we need to do something, but I am not a fan of "socialized" anything. It seems that now our government is tossing around the idea of COOPs instead of a government option...it will be interesting to see what happens...

I grew up 40 miles south of Portland in Kennebunk Port. This was great, to see Mainers out and having their voices heard. A simple story, a microcosm of America perhaps?
