Early Tuesday evening, University of Texas graduates John Goosey and Stacy Barnett were found shot to death in their West campus 2nd floor Condo by friends. The couple disappeared on the day they had plans to meet with Goosey's family in Houston for a gathering. Family members became worried when they had not heard from the two well after their expected arrival time. Family asked friends to go and check on the two at the condo, where they were then found dead.
At this time, Austin Police and crime scene investigators work around the clock to find suspects in the murder. Investigators say they have found no direct signs of forced entry and no information on evidence has been released.
Friends of the couple are stepping forward to give as much information as possible to assist police, but family members of the couple could no be reached for comment at this time. Friends say they couple were happy and might have been planning an engagement, but no one has come forward with any possible motives to that might open up the case. Police are considering that this could have been a random act, but are not counting out suspects that might have known the couple, as entry was no forced.
Police Lt. Mark Spangler said Wednesday that investigators would like to talk to anyone who might have information about the killings.
