The recent arrest of Henry Louis Gates is just the latest in a long line of incidents that should've gone better. Along the way, Gates felt humiliated, a white cop was dissed, and The Messiah tripped over a ripple in the water he usually walks on. But in the end, everyone was simultaneously right and wrong and America will continue to struggle with race.
