FEMA to conduct massive martial law exercise July 27-July 31

Earlier this week, the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Craig Fugate met with several state governors to discuss “emergency preparedness,” according to a press release [1] posted on FEMA’s website. “FEMA is committed to protecting and assisting our states and citizens during disasters,” said Fugate. “By working together and strengthening relationships at the state level, we can continue to build the national emergency response team which includes FEMA, as well as state, local, tribal and federal partners, the private sector and faith-based organizations. The work we are putting in now to build this team will go a long way during the next disaster.”

“The triggers include a continuing economic collapse with massive social unrest, bank closures resulting in violence against financial institutions, and another fraudulent presidential election that would result in rioting in major cities and campuses around the country,” explained Wayne Madsen.

An additional trigger has since emerged – a mass flu pandemic the government promises will occur this autumn.

    • I hope this isn't anything like NORADS exercises where they simulated hijacked planes crashing into "high profile" targets on and before 9/11.

    • wayseeker you're too trusting of rich bureaucrats that don't have your best interest at heart or maybe you just don't have all the facts.

FEMA was scheduled to a run disaster drill called TRIPOD on the day of 9/11, four years before Katrina, and they have run several TRIPOD drills after Katrina.

    • I'm not saying that this is going to be the end, or the beginning of some NWO or anything, I'm just saying what "is."
The plans have been in motion for years. FEMA's got the pastors on hand to get their flocks to turn in their guns and submit to government.

    • I suppose they think that all goverments are exactly the same and the same people are running FEMA as were when they gave this warning before.

      http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=96799346

Then why did gun sales rise so sharply? Are people just "waking up" as they believe that "that chicken have come home to roost?"

It is the same question I have asked everytime this has same article has appeared here. With so many weapons in the hands of citizens especially gangs and organized crime, how are they going to get away with martial law?

Are they willing to accept that many losses and bad press? Even Iran with its greater control over the country wasn't able to stop that.

Now Im not with that one. You try to save 100,000 people that is hard to get to in three days. With all that was, we as a nation came to help in the only we way that we could. My EMS crews stayed for over a week saven lives. The GOV. of L.A. didnt ask for help for 2 days. Fed Gov just cant go in unless asked. We went because we wanted too. We were never asked to go. We went and helped. If the same happened in NYC we as a nation could not do it and alot would die before we could. There are just over 5000 helos in America and a lot of them are just 2 seaters. Alot of the needed units were at war and could not help. Sorry just just running my mouth, sorry.

I think what FEMA did in New Orleans was blatant mistake, better said, it wasn't a mistake. The only was large corporations do ANYTHING AT ALL is to profit from it and since in New Orleans that was no PROFIT that just sat on their asses.

They weren't saved because the Mayor of NO has to ask for help in the case of local disasters before the feds can come in. It's a state right's issue. One would argue that the feds should have come in immediately, but that would have been a violation of the constitution.

The Mayor didn't ask for help immediately because there was hardly any coverage or damage upon that hurricane's arrival. He'd already given a mandatory state-of-emergency evacuation, and probably felt that people would be prepared, because hurricanes are nothing new to NO.

Personally, I think Fema should have come in despite the Mayor.

    • Well if all goes according to plan the federal resistance funded by the corporations will not have much support as the financial collapse will make paying their centurions their wages a little bit hard and that defense will collapse as well. Don't show your pride for our new golden age until the time is right. All internet usage will be cut off because of once again the capitalistic system will be broke and how do you keep and internet running when you can't pay your employees.

    • I'm torn, as I always am with things such as this. I don't want to sit back and say the gov't is completely innocent, and that this is just an emergency preparedness exercise. Vigilance and a healthy distrust of the government are crucial to freedom. On the other hand, I have no proof that this is anything but an emergency preparedness act. The motives, therefore, are to be determined using deduction. From what I've seen in the past the Government is not to be trusted, and I won't trust them with this either.

    • Oh no the government is going to take over the country and.... .... ..... What do all the people who are worried about the government/industrial powers that have control of our country are going to accomplish by forcefully beating back the already controlled citizens of the country that they already run? Get over it. The people in charge finished school and already know it is easier to control people through tv,movies, commercials, patriotic country/hip hop/ rock songs, and social pressure. Wake up people and go outside and play with your kids. Grill out with your neighbor. life is passing your crazy ass by

    • I grew up in the anti-war movement in the 60's and it would be immpossible to do today the actions we did back then for 2 reasons:
1.The Patriot Act and what it allows the government to do to you if you were to attempt the type of action you suggest.
2.They'd use US troops on you using live ammo to subdue you!
Everyone should read the Patriot act and some of the other unconstitutional laws that Bush passed before you consider any type of action!

    • I find it funny that all the reasons they are using for this are the same reasons we SHOULD be revolting in the streets. It really makes me angry that no one has started throwing molotov cocktails through windows of "financial institutions" on Wall Street.

    • Hey milesahead! If you believe that you'll believe anything! You are, like most Americans either deluded or brainwashed! Its people like you who allowed Bush to pass the Patriot Act and the other oppressive laws that followed it! Those who would give up freedom for security have neither!

Nope. I hated the Chimp and his entire administration. I was merely pointing out that the person who posted the article did so in a misleading manner. The language quoted was from the Bush era. It was part of a Neocon plan to remain in power instead of relinquishing the reins. What I wonder about is where were all you "defenders of freedom" during the Bush years, when we needed you?

    • Here we go people the NWO in action! It's only a matter of time until martial law hits us in the face and they start shipping us all to the FEMA concentration camps staffed by our military where anyone who protests will be killed! WAKE UP PEOPLE! Americas slide into a dictatorship is already well underway!

    • What a tempest in a teapot. This is a very misleading post. Massanova doesn't bother to explain that Madsen was describing a 2008 plan by the Bush administration to remain in power. From the article:

"Last October, investigative journalist Wayne Madsen [2] learned from knowledgeable FEMA sources that the Bush administration had put the final touches on a plan that would see martial law declared in the United States with various scenarios anticipated as triggers. “The triggers include a continuing economic collapse with massive social unrest, bank closures resulting in violence against financial institutions, and another fraudulent presidential election that would result in rioting in major cities and campuses around the country,” explained Madsen."

Forget it, conspiracy nuts, this is just an emergency preparedness drill.

    • It's good their focusing on all the triggers that are propellants of real freedom. Social unrest? Violence against financial institutions? Isn't that what we need?

It's long over due, and the peons at the 'top' are scared.

    • Well it could be argued that these "drills" keep the public and the government sector is a sustained state of fear and paranoia. These drills could be part of some military psychological warfare operations, in fact I'm almost certain that they are.

In addition to that, 9/11 was carried out under the cover of a series of military drills like this one, so there is plenty reason for concern.

    • govt just can't win , can it?

conducted exercises to be prepared for a disaster, and you're accused of practicing martial law.

dont do anything, you're accused of being incompetent.

      Totally agree with massanova...

The government hid 9/11 by doing exactly this. Then, the military & police were caught off-guard and the response screwed up by the fact no one could tell if it was real or a drill for the first umpteen minutes.

(pretty much ensuring no response before too late)

You need to go back and study your history... little things like love canal, Westinghouse/Hanford.... the CIA and it's involvement in drugs & racial riots and how they kidnapped & tested drugs on every day people.... CDC using a cold-like illness in CA to see what a real pandemic in major pop center would be like...

Then come back and tell us how we should have 100% faith that our gov't is always looking out for us.
