Syngenta GM ‘Ethanol Corn’ Poised To Contaminate Food Supply

The USDA and Syngenta are about to use all of us as the unknowing and unwilling guinea pigs for a new genetically engineered 'ethanol corn' that contains an enzyme never before seen in the human food supply.

The ‘test material’ in question, Event 3272 corn, is a GM corn intended for ethanol production. Its maker Syngenta, a company that, like Monsanto, derives its profits from ‘improving’ upon nature’s ’shortcomings’, claims the corn will eliminate a energy intensive step in corn ethanol production process, making corn ethanol itself slightly more cost efficient.

Event 3272 corn contains an exotic enzyme derived from the heat-loving organisms that crowd around and inhabit deep sea thermal vents. The enzyme in question is known as alpha-amylase and its function is to break down starches into sugars. Alpha-amylase has never been in the human food supply and its acid-resistant and heat-resistant properties give it huge potential for causing allergies resulting from its consumption. A similar form of the enzyme found in some fungi is already known to cause respiratory problems in some people. The USDA has even publicly stated that if Event 3272 corn ‘inadvertently’ enters the food supply, it could pose a problem.

Just posting because I love hearing how genetics is so good for me and my food (chain)
