Fear Of A Black President: Conservative Media Drumming Up Racial Fear

I think this is at the heart of what is the problem with America. Fox News has almost single handed regressed the level of political and social discourse almost back to the Jim Crowe era. The pathetic and frustrating this isn't that Racism still exists in America, but, with the shift of Fox News to a more conservative ideals during the Bush era, that it is given a place to continue to fester, giving it the potential to breed a whole new generation of bigots. I cannot understand if you are a citizen of America who is trying to progress us towards a progressive and equal future for all why this would even be allowed to exist. However, I think the support of this show and the bile that it continuously puts forth is indicative of how deep seeded intolerance bigotry and ignorance is embedded in our country... how desperate a few people are to keep this country shackled by it.

      Fox News,

Can't really believe people still watch that show? Because it certainly isn't News.

Ignorance is simply embedded, because when there is good, there will always have opposition wherever good is.

Especially when these people SO unwilling to listen to other's views, its like they only want to listen to their side and only theirs and the people that follow them..

Its poison I'd say.....Humans who are new to politics are easy to convince for them to come to one side or the other.....

I hear you, metalcookies. It's tough to make a progressive equal society when there are forces actively trying to prevent it. But, even in these times, I am hopeful, because generations before us faced much much worse to get us to this point. One of the biggest problems is that a lot of good people are quiet and/or apathetic and there so much ignorance as to the continued affect bigotry and prejudice has on our nation, despite the volumes of data that clearly show it. It is a challenge, no doubt, but it's not a problem that has no solution, you know?
