A long-awaited agreement between the Ultimate Fighting Championship and the man considered the world's best mixed martial arts fighter, Fedor Emelianenko, is expected to be announced by UFC President Dana White on Friday, a source with information about the negotiations told The Times today....

He is the hands down BEST heavyweight in the history of mixed martial arts. This deal is made even more interesting by Brock Lesnar's seeming dominance over the current heavyweight division.

UPDATE: Not happening. Fedor was offered a better contract then most UFC fighters ever dream of and his manager turned it down. Fedor has admitted that he is more concerned about money and "feeding his family" (the ufc would more then do that) then competing with the best. Many have lost allot of respect for him as a fighter.

      Updated it: I personally have lost a ton of respect with Fedor as a fighter & many I talk to have as well. Money is his priority, not fighting.

      Also, he has said he dosen't care about the American audience... which is stupid in my opinion. The whole world recognized the UFC as the current top MMA organization. None even come close with Pride & Affliction gone. I wouldn't count on ever seeing him in the UFC. The best we can hope for is a UFC top 5 caliber heavyweight somehow leaving/being permited by the UFC to fight him.
