Beluga whale saves drowning diver

This is amazing!

People think this is a joke there are cases of dolphins surrounding a human that was going to attack by a shark. Why do people think that animals serve no purpose except to be our pets or to be eatten.

This is adorable! Animals never cease to amaze me. Too bad the poor thing isn't out in its natural home instead of an aquarium though.

Heart-warming story. I really hope it's true because apparently this isn't exactly coming from the most reputable source.

The biggest question I have is WHY are there pictures of this happening? There's a picture at the link with the caption reading "Terrified ... Yang Yun dangles helplessly."

Wtf. Someone is drowning and your first reaction is along the lines of: quick honey, get the camera!

No wonder the whale had to do the saving. Everyone else was just watching.

Whales are closer to humans than you think. They nurse the babies longer than humans do. they live in familys like us. they cry. I love the show Whale Wars on animal planet. Dam japanese yeh right reseach. thats why on the processing ship the whale is put into little packetags just ready for consumption. Hey they also eat Tiger Penis. Whats next for them human penis.and for what varility hey we got viagra. and no need to kill an animal.

This could be the cutest thing ever. But, The Sun is about as reputeable as The National Enquirer.

An amazing book that tells many stories of whales interacting with and assisting people is, "Mind in the Waters"

This was a nice one...A feel good kind os story isn't it?

There was a gal, caught on video at the time, who while on her monthly went snorkling and got touchy-feely with a whale. The whale then went for it, grabbing her and taking her down for games at around 200 feet. She, kicking and screaming the whole way.

Just before she expired, the whale brought her back up to the surface.

I think she owes that whale a favor. Good story.

I'd be even more heart warming if they let the whale swim in the open sea.

Funny how a lot of humans think we are the only animals capable of empathy and altruism.

Great story. I love when animals do things, which illustrates compassion and intelligence.

I believe the photographer was outside of the basin, filming through a glass window. He couldn't have done anything to help, he probably didn't realize what was going on at first.

Too bad, this is only came from the Sun. A cameraman was close, but he waited for the whale.

what's amazing is this happened in a pool, under supposedly monitored conditions. where the heck were the safety divers?

what cracks me up is the line by the organizer "Mila [the whale] noticed the problem before we did"

I want to believe this story but isn't "The Sun" kind of...well, full of crap?

What a heart warming story. I wish ALL humans would be this kind.

Even the whales know us humans are in trouble!
