Racism on the Fox News cable network program "Fox and Friends" is becoming a problem. Perhaps the election of a black President is responsible; perhaps it is nothing new, only newly exposed. Whatever the case, the problem remains. There are two recent examples of on air overt racism.

    • There is nothing in the scenario we know of that would conclude anyone was a racist. All we can infer for sure is the cop acted with lack of forethought and intelligence.

eldamon i agree... he definitely did act without foresight and intelligence... at the same time though he MAY have acted with racial prejudices... thinking that the person in the house who was black was a criminal and not the homeowner...

True, he very well may have. We don't know and may never know. We do know he made a very poor decision and most likely would not make the same mistake again.

    • Wait, are you actually attempting to defend Glenn Beck by saying the President of the United States and a tenured Harvard professor are racists? Did you think that through in the least?

In fact I think I said it before Beck. Obama didn't even have all the facts before he dissed the police officer.
      That's unbecoming the office.
But like he said, he "might be prejudice because Gates is my personal friend..."

    • Gee, some one that sees another person of a different color and automatically thinks that person is racist is a what?
Gee, isn't that what Gates and Obama both did? Oh, wait; that's right only white's and Hondurans can be racists.
Poor Glenn, he was never told blacks CAN'T be racist!
Oh, and BTW I DON"T WATCH TV.

You know that didn't make any sense the last time you wrote it. Pres. Obama and Prof. Gates simply pointed out the obvious. The cop acted stupidly.

Clearly it's difficult for NON-idiots to be racist.

Its one thing to express your feelings on blacks and how they think or judge others on race BUT its another living a life in black skin, tinted culture that society can't relate since media and politicians have played a role in keeping us burried in our dark skin and 3rd world continent, what else can the 20th century idealogy on devide and rule give.NO MORE WE ARE IN THE 21st CENTURY.

    • Obama told the truth......The cop acted extremely stupid...Crowley made a false arrest, and fabricated a crime report to cover up his actions......

Pres. Obama didn't attack anyone, he simply pointed out the obvious. The arresting officer acted stupidly. Not that he was stupid in general or racist or there was profiling involved but that the officer's actions were not well thought out. The cop acted stupidly for arresting a man in his own home and setting all the other events in motion.

Yes, I continue to believe that the cop, for whatever reason, failed to exercise good judgment. Gates was clearly neither a physical threat to the officer nor an escape risk. I just don't see what the officer had to lose by starting off exhibiting a cordial manner. He wasn't exacty walking into a biker bar at closing time...

From my understanding the police officer was cordial the whole time it was Gates who was beligerent and yelling, "you don't know who you're dealing with" "I'm gonna see your mamma outside". There were a lot of people that witnessed this scene including other black men, that happened to be cops, also.

nursediesel... you honestly think that cops dont stick together?? especially black cops? you know what would happen to them if they spoke out against their "fellow officers"??

i dont know if gates was belligerent with the officer or not.. but the whole "well there were black witnesses/cops who said he was also" doesnt prove anything.. what if a black citizen said "i saw the whole thing and gates DIDNT get beliigerent"? everyone would jump on it and say "well he obviously hates cops" or "he would take the side of gates, another black guy"

ive seen it happen before... and Fox news would DEF. be the culprit to say something like that...

NurseD, where do you derive your "understanding"? You keep referring to the cop's point of view as fact when the police report itself has already been proven incorrect.

    • I see people flip out over stuff THEY don't think is news. I may have to rethink my position. Racism on Fox can't actually be news to anyone with an IQ larger than their shoe size.
