ABC New's John Stossel is appearing on radio & television promoting his segment on 20/20 . He promotes this segment as his attempt to tell the American people THE TRUTH about the Canadian health care system.
The Obama administration has TOUTED the Canadian health care system as an example of what we could achieve. In these interviews Stossel points out that in Canada there is no innovation, or medical research. In these appearances, Stossel also points out some interesting facts about other
countries who have government run health care. Mr. Stossels says he is particularly concerned about the proposal of a 25 person committee that would over see our health care in the U.S. These 25 people would be appointed by Obama. These are some of the things I learned listening to
Stossel's interviews.
1. In England 1 million people are on a waiting list to see a doctor.
Another 200 thousand are waiting to get on the list.
2. In England the government board that over sees health care cancels 100 thousand surgeries a year.
3. In the U.S. we have the highest survivability rate for people suffering from 18 of the 19 most dangerous cancers
Example; Prostate cancer:
U.S. 91%
France 73%
England 51%
4. In Canada 800 thousand of their 33 million residents are on a waiting list to be "assigned" a doctor.
5. In Canada the wait time to get an MRI or CAT scan, Human 30 days, dog or cat 1 day --- HUH????
I encourage everyone to watch this program, remember this is ABC News, a news outlet that has been very favorable to the president.
