DNC video attacks birthers, GOP's 'mob' tactics

WakeUpPeople
Following this morning's frontal assault by the White House against dishonest coverage of the healthcare debate by right-wing news aggregator Matt Drudge, among others, the Democratic National Committee appears to be throwing its hat into the battle as well.

The DNC has produced a video of their own, which we bring to you below. It attacks so-called GOP "mobs" that have been cropping up around the country at Democratic lawmakers' town hall meetings.

It was revealed early Tuesday that these groups are being organized by the same folks that coordinated the Swift Boat attacks against Sen. John Kerry in 2004, effectively sinking his bid to unseat his now departed opponent.

The group claiming credit for the angry scenes is called Conservatives for Patients’ Rights, run by a former hospitals executive.

"After eight years of failed policies that ruined our economy and cost millions of American jobs, desperate Republicans and their well-funded backers are organizing angry mobs, just like they did during the election," the DNC's video declares.

"This strategy is straight from the playbooks of high-level political operatives," the Democrats claim. "They have no plan for moving our country forward, so they've called out the mob."

The ad also features the now-famous clip of an angry woman confronting a congressman at a town hall, asking, "why are you people ignoring" the supposed lack of a birth certificate for the President of the United States.

(Obama's birth certificate is available on the Internet for any and all to see.)

The DNC's plan of action? "Call the Republican party," the ad's narrator says. "Tell them you've had enough of the mob."

A little bird tells me that video and all the phone calls from all the Democratic activists in the world will not change the mind of GOP leadership. (See also: Iraq war.)

Although, for the DNC, confronting nonsense head-on seems to be a new concept. Let's see where this goes.

    • Anyone would have to be nuts to think this is organized, my friends and I talk about it and are glad its happening, but were not making plans. No one has been asked to take part, thats just DNC propaganda.
NEVER LET A CRISIS GO TO WASTE, even if you have to create it.

    • It is a very sad day in America, when Corporations hire so-called activists to disrupt Town Hall Meetings, sponsored by Democratic Congressmen...... The angry mobs consist primarily of paid Lobbyist and personnel employed by various Republican Organizations.......It is business as usual when it comes to the Republican Party.......Their only proposal for the Health Care Crisis is to disrupt Town Hall Meetings, (shouting )just say no...People are dieing, and the Republicans are catering to the greed of big insurance companies and forgetting about the People who hired their sorry, lying asses.

    • People with the collective IQ of shoe leather are running around at the behest of the old guard that takes advantage of their gullibility to make it seems like "real Americans" are up in arms. What the GOP keeps failing to realize is "real America" isn't a monotone flash mop from the heartland. A diverse mix from big cities to small hamlets are interested in what their country is up to and these unruly tea-bagging groups serve only as entertainment and motivation to stay in tune.

    • See what lies can cause people to do. This is the dangerous side of misinforming the public, and it is exactly why we need to hold journalists accountable when they spread fear and panic based on completely false information. Dan Rather was forced to leave when he reported Bush did not serve in the military. Why are all of the birther 'journalists' still working? Why are lobbyist-run protests with specific instructions for intimidation considered 'grassroots'? This is not America anymore. This is the United States of Delusion.
