Conservatives Turn Violent When They Don't Get Their Way

Image
Progresshiv
After decades of ridiculing and excoriating protestors for peaceful dissent, conservatives have shown their true colors with mob violence directed at representatives who wish only to enact positive health care legislation. The unmistakeable undercurrents of hatred and racism which have led to this uncivilized behavior are fueled by a national brainwashing campaign created by insurance and pharmaceutical companies.

Proving once again that no one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people, big money in the monopolistic media has engendered a spasm of hysteria unseen here since the last time someone tried to do something decent for the less-fortunate. The much-vaunted "generosity" of Americans clearly takes a back seat to panic, blind hatred, and an idiotic penchant for self-destruction. Way to go, conservatives! Maybe next you can riot to prevent clean water supplies.

    • Exactly what I was thinking. These people do not know how to act civilized, and have proved it time and time again. They've taken it way too far this time.

    • MACFAN,

I have a Mac, too, and love it.

I think health has a lot to do with life, and a rational community (or nation) that recognizes people's rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness will work to ensure that people are healthy enough to live.

The point you make about cost (deficits) is as important to liberals as it is to conservatives. In fact, because both liberals and conservatives fall below the poverty line, they have a vested interest in making sure the federal government has enough money to provide safety nets such as Social Security and Medicare.

The health care reform ideas being pushed by Obama attempt to rein in the huge and rising costs of health care, which are the main single contribution to the national debt. Without drastically curtailing military spending, we have to find a way to keep medical insurance costs from doubling every few years. We have to find ways to educate and deploy family doctors in rural communities. We have to stop the use of emergency rooms in favor of using preventative medicine. If we can curb these insane costs, the deficit will fall, because that is just basic arithmetic.

If we can stop screaming hysterically about “Obama Death Panels” and other completely insane, phony fairy tales, we can work out how to get people better medical care with less cost.

You use phrases ‘You People’ and ‘You Guys’. I am an individual that believes in individual responsibility who has conservative values. I do not want my government Dem/Rep/Lib to tell me how to live my life or celebrate my God.

I never called Obama a ‘racist’ or that he was not ‘born’ in this Country.

My complaints with Obama are about Healthcare Reform, Deficit, Taxes and of course spending. I had the same complaints regarding Bush and spending at the end of his presidency.

Our constitution guarantees Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Please notice there is no mention of Healthcare. The government’s basic obligation to its citizens is to protect us from enemies foreign and domestic

The may be moving in to YOUR neighborhood! They may shop at YOUR store! Their kids might go to the same school as YOUR kids! My God, what has happened to America? This used to be such a great place.

    • what a bunch of BULLSHIT.

The whole article is about "conservatives getting violent", but the ONLY example they give is of an ALLEGED call ALLEGEDLY made to ONE representative. What PROOF is there that this ever happened?

These democrats are a bunch of f*ing liars. Like Pelosi saying the protesters are arriving with swastikas, when it ws again later revealed by her spokesperson that it was ONE GUY with A SIGN THAT HAD A SWASTIKA WITH A LINE THROUGH IT--in other words, he was accusing the liberals of acting like Nazis, and he didn't want that. Maybe it was a stupid sign, but he wasn't promoting Nazism, he was OPPOSING it.

But hey, we all know that the Democrats are strangers to truth. Which is why protesters are getting angry.

Then they just talk about protesters with signs. That is not violent.

The cse of violence in Tampa, which was NOT discussed in the article, was revealed later that the Democrats had brought in Union members to act like bouncers and kick out protesters, and it was THEY who got violent, not the protesters.

Shouting down regular meetings as if we have invaded a country and spent 3 trillion dollars that has gone up in smoke. No that happened when we had the fascists running the country for the last 8 years. It's time for these dumb asses to sit down and shut up. If after 8 years we have truly screwed the country up as the fascists did for the last 8 years then you can bitch about the change in direction.

There is a great deal of language in there that, like the Patriot Act, is nebulous enough that waiting until it is contested to clarify will be expensive and stupid.

    • While it's never accurate to stereotype an entire group, it is intereting to look at the trends of specific groups. Liberals TEND to be more open-minded, and therefore, TEND to be more tolerant of differing opinions. Conservatives TEND to be more narrow-minded, and therefore, TEND to be less tolerant of differing opinions. It's the lack of tolerance that leads to most ideological based violence. That being said, desperation has pretty much the same effect on both liberals and conservatives. In those times, I highly recommend arming yourself with knowledge on the issue, taking no one person's or group's word as truth, but instead researching CREDIBLE sources. If you still have the urge to use violence to get your way, read up on Ghandi and MLK, Jr. They changed the world with nonviolent civil disobedience, and they didn't even use threatening language or intimidation tactics designed by lobbyists and corporations.

Now lets talk about how we get it done. Lets stop placing money before human lives. By the way there are some great responses to this story. Much love and Peace!

    • The FACT remains, it is in the best interests of the insurance companies and DEAL- MAKERS to keep the attention of the voter fully focused on his orchestrated opponent and out of the board room where the real sell out is occurring. It is in both Dem's and Republican's best interest to know and understand who is being set up to profit from health care reform.

I agree we must avoid the label of "liberal" and "conservative" in this country. Its insulting and worse yet americans have no idea what the true form of either label is. As my professor back in uni put it "there is no such thing as a liberal in america, just right wing politicians who are conscious enough to not want peasant riots"

Let me put it this way:
America has become a central right country meaning all our policies are slanted to the right and nothing more. Barak Obama is centrist right politician, he doesn't make true liberal decisions and the entire democratic party with some exceptions acts the same way. Those who call themselves republicans should understand that the policies of a democrat slightly differ from a republican. Its asinine to even think anyone except what americans call a "radical" to change things or better yet the general public. Oddly in other countries a radical is called something else, like president. Truthfully americas last fiasco with liberalism was in the 60-70's when an educated angry public tried to make changes on their own through protest and demonstrations as well as public actions for the benefit of society. The powers that be had a way to deal with that by destroying the nations infrastructure and turning all those liberals into selfish capitalist worried about buying "their american dream" and theirs only, since then nothings changed.

The media is the same also, no different, its just a centrist media leaning very much to the right. All are owned by the same rich dudes, and while CNN acts like a liberal station, its not. Its just fox news without the crazy talk by pundits about where Obama was born. CNN will go and attack guys like "ralph nader" and anyone who proposed real progress, unless they have an affair (only americans care about an affair, i guess this has something to do with our rapid dumbing down). Our culture war is completely manufactured and to watch it sometimes is hilarious, because it is nothing more than a distraction.

I would say the last "liberal" president was FDR and the democrats have done a good job to appear they are like him all the way up to our current president. The difference is they have none of his ideas, the democrats of today are more like Nixon and until the public is back in the drivers seat this is how its going to be for a long time.

Elections have consequences and when you win the big one as we did, you just get to set the agenda. Get used to it your not winning any votes by being obstructionists in the health care battle. It needs fixing and the people know it. And voting against a latino woman will get you so many of the same voters you already have the week minded and narrow thinking racists. Expand your horizons and open your tent up or fade away like the wigg party. Hell they have been gone for so long I don't remember if thats how you spell wigg.

But the thing is, I haven't seen violence (racist or otherwise) on the part of the consrvative protesters. We have all seen the union thugs doing what they do best, beat people who don't agree with them.

Granted, but it's hard to judge someone's intelligence based upon a simple misspelled word. Take commentors like macfan for example, the guy consistently misspells words, never uses punctuation, and is rarely able to form anything that might be considered a coherent sentence. Also, almost everything he says is asinine. However, every now and then, even through all of his misspelled words and 3rd grade run-on sentences, he'll make a good point. My point is that if you're going to cite someone for lacking intelligence you should find something a little more grievous than a misspelled word like absurd.

    • But as I said in another recent post....

Like racism, homophobia, xenophobia, bigotry towards social classes, youth, other faiths are some of the mind concepts of conservatives, and not to mention the narrow-mindedness when it comes to other's viewpoints..

They don't respect much of the anything important, therefore they won't get much respect at all, only from their followers..

They follow conspiracies, they support these racist people, and Fox News...

I really don't care if they don't live in America, or in North America, because I don't as well...

They may claim they have explored other parts of the nation, they may claim they this kind of degree, but it proves nothing, its their twisted backward mind that makes them who they are.....

I question why are they still at Current, if they complain about it so much, and why don't they create their group....Because certainly whatever they post will never make it featured....
